CLAWsNoticeboard

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Go to: CLAWs? | CLAWsNoticeboard | ClawsCalendar? | FridgeQuotes | RoleplayingCampaigns | LarpWriting | Dragonfire?

The CLAWroom is no more and without it the old noticeboard is somewhat useless. The new noticeboard is on the noticeboard to the right of the library entrance (left from the document centre). Until we get a new CLAWroom this will serve as a space where you can put up notices.

Put new notices on top with your name/nick/contact details. Remove older notices once they are no longer applicable to keep the board up-to-date. (Regular events have their own section below the notices.)

Notices

Un-passwording wiki pages

Individial edit passwords on wiki pages have been removed. To edit any wiki pages, you must login using your forum username and password.

Passwording TheTome pages

Now that they have started spamming TheTome, I've set the edit password "nospam" on those pages that have been targetted. :(

Passwording PmWiki Group

To prevent wiki spammers messing around with the PmWiki group, I've set the edit password to "bigot". Hopefully they won't start targetting the TheTome. :/

Move to Rimu completed

If you're reading this, DNS changes have propagated, and you're now browsing the wiki at its new home on RimuHosting?.

Moving to Paid Hosting 24/25 June 2006

On 24/25 June the CLAWs and Dragonfire websites will move to third-party hosting provided by Rimu Hosting?.

We don't expect any downtime though there will be a period during which the wiki will be locked to edits. You may also be directed to the old site for a bit until the DNS changes take effect.

More info at LeavingEssington.

Passwording Main Group

In order to encourage the use of TheTome rather than Main, I've passworded Main with the code word "bigot". I've also made TheTome the default group.

Network Outage 16 Feb 2006

The EssingtonHouse ADSL went down at 12:37:46SAST today after an uptime of 45090.7 minutes (that's 31d07h 30.7m). Bah. It would be during O-week.

When the net connection didn't come back up after half an hour the gateway gave up (I've fixed this behaviour now).

We noticed the connection was dead at 21h30, everything was back online again by 22h30.

Baby Shower

20th of August at Princess_Annie's parents place in Table View. Bring and braai (not the presents, your food) not obliged to bring presents but I am sure Princess_Annie wont mind a nice short , blong , big breasted female. Starting at three. Dress to impress is the theme, so do your best not to be boring with what you wear. Email me for more details goldenangel at gmail dot com

#CLAWs has moved!

The CLAWs IRC channel has moved to ZAnet.net (not ZAnet?.org.za!), after LAGnet went all xenophobic on us.

Unless you already have a registered nick on ZAnet?.net you'll have to reregister. Currently we can also have a maximum of only 3 connections via NurmRas's CGI:IRC page. Try the Java client in the meantime.

See CLAWsOnIRC? for details.

Ctheditors Mailing List

Owing to an increase in the amount of SPAM (not SPON) targetting the Ctheditors? mailing list, it has now become a closed-discussion list.

This means that it cannot be used to submit articles or artwork for CLAWmarks? (not that it ever was, but that was the idea).

The CLAWsMailingLists? page has been updated accordingly.

Don't forget the CLAWmarks33? deadline approaching on 18 July!

It's for real!

i read a lot more news than is probably healthy for me, but cnet.com recently ran an article that said that studies show that people are not only getting attached to their cellphones and internet connections, but that being constantly in touch with your friends is beginning to produce a hive-mind effect.

that's kind of scary. so i just thought i'd "share" that with you all, this tiki/wiki/whotsit could be bad for all of us. or good, in a borg sort of way.
