You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Right, this Gmail thing is up and running, but it seems that it's staying invite only at this point in time (sounds like orkut.com). So I've decided to start a bit of a invite distribution program. The only catch is that when you start getting invites to hand out (they come in packs of 3) that you donate 1 to this page. The next problem is how to decide which one of the snatching masses will get the invite.... If you're interested leave your name, mail, and a one-liner on why you should get a gmail invite. Person offering the invite gets to choose who it goes to.

GMail ? now have their own new mail notifier, or you can use DynAdvance which works with more than just GMail ?. An alternative to the (temporarily not working) pgtgm is psGmail, but it costs $8.

GMail Drive shell extension: creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google GMail ? account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your GMail ? account directly from inside Windows Explorer.

are you suggesting telling them about this page, or just taking email addresses as they sign up? also, there's a benefit of inviting them directly rather than via the spooler, in that the inviter gets their email address when the invitee joins up - d@vid October 26 2004
