Simon's Thoughts - Week 2

Day Eleven

The second mound was empty! Bah! Jeremaih wanted to stay behind to study the statue (it is a replica of the one we found in the first temple). We left him with 4 of the ten Iron Gards, and made haste to the next temple.

We have found the missing Drow from the second temple (the first temple was empty because we had killed or captured all the Drow from it already). There was a great battle. The Iron Gard took care of the acolytes, while I myself took care of one of their evil priestesses. The second priestess, caused an unnatural darkness to descend, and tried to escape using the absence of light to fool us. But it did not fool our native guide. It seems he was able to sense her smell, and chased her down and killed her. We now have more journals and unholy books for Jeremiah.

In the evening, our caveman friend went off on his own mission, perhaps to contact members of his tribe on this side of the mountain? I hope that is not the last we see of him, he is a valuable asset.

Day Twelve, Thirteen & Fourteen

We headed back to the second mound, to pick up Jeremiah and the four other Iron Gards.

On the morning of the thirteenth day, the caveman said he needed to go on his own quest to find "his Tree". I am not sure what this entails, or what the objective is, but it has the added bonus of taking the damned elf with him. Which makes me suspicious. So I was pleased when Kerrick offered to join them. I would not have been able to command him to go, so I was glad he volunteered. the caveman said there might be more Dark Drow, but only his "tree" will be able to tell him. Once we complete this mission, we will have to come back here to investigate and eradicate.

We then headed back to town, getting to the Squattish cave near the evening of the Fourteenth. We talked to the Squattish chieftain, and convinced him we had killed all the dark Drow (that we knew of). He will accompany us back to Mellinath, to apologise.

Day Fifteen

We got back to town. The contract is over, so we were paid (well, we have to wait for the Chieftain to get back from the Mellinath first, but that should be tomorrow). I feel that the dark times are just starting, and so I have decided that I need a little more help in my mission. I have taken my sword to be enchanted. Oh, I wish I had been able to find the True Sword of Simon. I have heard many tales of it's power. I am sure that Judas has stolen it, as well as the sanity, and life, of the man that held my name before me. Well, my sword will be ready tomorrow night, so I have nothing to do in town for a day.

Day Sixteen

Spent the day in town training, and praying. In the evening, the Iron Gard who had taken the Squattish chieftain to talk to the Mellinath reported back that after the Mellinath had been shown the Dark Drow, they had made plans to leave, and there were only about 10 left. I also took my pay, and paid for my sword, and took possession of it.

{Player Knowledge: Jeremiah went to the temple library and did some research. Caveman, Elf and Kerrick built a raft, and sailed to the island. Caveman talked to his Tree before it walked back to the mainland, They investigated and found a cave that sounded like it was full of Dark Drow chanting. They returned to the mainland}

Day Seventeen & Eighteen

The Iron Gard want confirmation that there are no more Dark Drow on the other side of the mountain. Se we are heading back there to make sure they have been all killed. On the evening of the Eighteenth, we arrived at the cave on the other side of the mountain.

Day Nineteen and Twenty

Meet up with the caveman, the damned elf and Kerrick in the morning. They told us what they saw on th island. Kerrick will go back for re-enforcements, and has decided not continue this assignment believing it to be too dangerous (Roo, please don't make up stuff about the other characters. Thats my job. InfernalRabbi). He is taking the elf with him, so that the elf can show the Iron Gard where to go when they get to this side of the mountain.

The rest of us headed off for the beach close to the island.

During the day on the twentieth, we saw two shadowy figures coming towards us. Well, actually, we heard them before we saw them. It soundled like the muted cries of hundreds of souls, crying out incoherently in pain and madness. Jeremiah tried to get a better sense of what they were, and ended up in a fetal position, holding his head in pain. I did not need to ask the Light if they were evil or not... their evilness is apparent for all to see. I would not know how to stop them...
