     twitchy.) Watched Sky Captain, it was alright nothing spectacular though.

      played munchkin (Munchkin + unnarural axe + clerical errors + munchkin 
      Blender + Munchkin fu) and won 3 out of 3 .... Amateurs. Spent the day at a 
      friend's that I havn't seen in years. Talked lotsa crap ( Wargaming + 
      roleplaying + gasp.....normal stuff.) Having a braai at my place for new 
      years, buncha people comming over.A relaxed evening. Food and booze and 
      conversation. Sick of missioning on a new years. Have spent bucket loads of 
      money on roleplaying product.......I just can't stop. there should be a 
      Rpg anonymous. Now I have no Xmas money left :-(. I have to take 8 
      courses at varsity in 2005 ....blegh. 

30 - December - Impending New- year Blehhh....

  Blah blah blah, lots of Dawn of war and counterstrike blah blah blah.
  New years is coming.....couldn't be bothered. Watching animated show called 
  Drawn together. A animated "reality tv show" made by Comedy central. It is funny
  Bizarre. Un PC, but funny.I recommend it. My God, please make Alexander stop it 
  goes on so loooong. Somebody shoot Mr. Stone. Ok bored now. bye bye. 

25/26 Dec - Ho ho ho ... and all that stuff.

 was cool. Cool presents! New years looms like something big, mean and waiting in a 
 alley. Got the Depeche Mode remixes cd's .... they are kewl! Have been sleeping 
 like a normal human being ( getting up at 8ish. ) wich is quite an achievement
 for me. Lets hope I keep it up. Have been mulling a couple of ideas over for claw 
 marks.Most of them involve improving the overall look and mabey standardising some 
 it's layout. I suspect getting involved might result in me strangling someone as 
 I am vol Kak when it comes to design + layout. ( oh yeah and colour 
 reproduction....grrr!) I was the moer in when some of my art was fucked up last 
 time. I still do not know where half of it went. Anyway ... bygones. Oh yeah there 
 are some d&d colour in books on thier website also the sincity trailer is on the 
 net. Sincity movie ....WOOT! Been spending a lot of my time playing l5r (ccg), 
 going to gigs and hanging with friends. Also saw incedibles when it came out.
 It was good but I walked away strangely dissapointed. Not sure why though. I 
 finally watched "the simple life" and my God was it a waste of time. It was like 
 watching a car crash without any of the good bits. Not one redeeming feature.
 I have never wished as much harm on a celeb as on those two. I want to start 
 messing around with graphic novel/comic layout but u need a good "script" first and
 that's a schlep. Need a digi cam too hmmmm..... reference materials can be  
 difficult to track down. Need to get lots of visual material from golden studio era
 Hollywood. Got a cool idea for a story. Also need to get a part time job I need to
 get hold of a Wacom pad and the new intuos 3's run at about 4 and a 1/2
 grand for a decent size ....Ouch! Those things are awesome the pen's stroke is 
 pressure/angle sensitive just like a real pencil. Anyway cheers folks, sleep tight.

Dec 04 - I am a lazee biatch.

 Been up and down this side of SA, insanely packed one week followed with a mind-
 numbingly boring 7 days.  It's been a loooong time since i wrote something (Not 
 that anyone cares). Last 3 weeks have been craaazee. Went from feeling alienated 
 in my own home (I felt like I was watching people that I should know, but cant 
 help but think of them as strangers. And these are people I have known since I 
 was a kid. Have I changed that much in the last year or two?) to 
 absofuggenlutey bored since I would rather  stay home than be annoyed by said 
 individuals.( Not all of them. But some seem to have become part beer, part 
 viagra, part jock. ohhh..wait the last one is rather redundant.) Anyway I thought 
 my fate was sealed when I decided to go to alternative evening at a club )a 
 friend of mine was playing at the gig). Low and behold an Angel wanders 
 into the club and bounces over to the bar walking past the bar, I was 
 poleaxed. I stood there at the edge of the dance floor enthralled yet laking 
 the cahoonas to be the suave dude. Eventually once she sat down I parabatted 
 into position plonking down next to her.(all alone into a hornets nest of 
 women...aaiiyeee!) Anyway all went well, and this girl was one of the coolest human being I have ever met (and pretty too). Ohh yeah and she calls everyone dude too! So I eventually get home at some god bedraggled hour ( 5 or 6 ... cant remember.) And she Sms's me that "she should have told me sooner but she has a boy in Graham's town".......Ahhhr, fate! why am I your play-thing! So the other day we go watch incredibles, with wine and chatting at a friend's that eventually ended at 9:30 sittng in the valley wet from mist rain near her house. 

                            I always do. Story of my life.            

20 FEB 04 - Varsity rolls round once again.

Varsity is going at full steam and surpise, surprise I am actually enjoying it. Maybe changing my course away from the hell hole had something to do with it.Scored 18/20 On the Fake smile test the the two that I missed was damn close though (I was 50\50 about them.)I have to say if i was confronted by these people in a club or something I propably would not be in the state to notice. Anyway I tried to play Temple of elemental evil but it bored me.
Hordes of the Underdark is much cooler.Been dying to start roleplaying again so finish your damn character Ian. I wanna lay the SMAKK on some shadowlands punks.( Mega deadly jade strike of my ancestors Haieeeeee!!!)
Trying to use L05r core rule engine to a western fantasy setting(SCarred? lands) ,only problem is defing how magic operates. Current idea: 3 types of magic nl.devine, arcane(Spontaneos and formulaic) and druidic.
Inspiration:D@d,Mage,L5r,Ars magica. I am thinking in getting rid of the rings and deviding the traits into corporeal and mental groups.
ie, Corporeal= Strength,Agility,Reflexes,Stamina

    Mental= Awareness,Perception,Intelligence,Willpower
The rank\technique system will be modified to closer resemble Scarred lands(although not quite D@d...bleggh!).

Example:The Crab Berserker is close to Barbarian\berserker of d@d or vikings in mechanics.

14 JAN 04 -The Long road ahead is filled with Ham,Tomato and Cheese.

Low and behold someone actually leaving a comment on my wiki thingy wow, I dont know I should be happy or sorry for exposing u to this drivel ShadowsLight.Anyway I have Been told that Ars magika is the farking bomb and I was considering it an option.
My problem however is my lack of experience with the system.I do not want magi dominating gameplay.(is that necessarily the case?) They will be very important but the game will be set in the Scarred lands setting which was meant for D&d.So people who do not feel like playing a wizzard should not feel obliged to do so. I'll have a look at the Ars Magika rules and see what the game is like.From the brief flipping through the book in past it had a positive feel or "vibe" if u will

Anyway, tommorrow the black expance of the N2 looms Ahead of me so I need my beauty sleep. Bye bye fer now.

Whhooweee! You stop reading the wiki for a while and the shit hits the fan? Fortunately my being in Pe has completely baffled and uninvolved. I only now of a few unpleasantry's
that happened recently and had thought they were resolved. Agg well, no business of mine.

RANT ALERT!- THIS MIGHT EITHER SOUND VERY SILLY, SIMPLISTIC OR ACCURATE DEPENDING ON YOUR FRAME OF MIND SO DISREGARD IT IF U WANT SINCE I DON'T REALLY CARE.....Might seem like Angst Drivel, but have a heart....:)

My experience this holiday with people I hav'nt seen for a while (DISCLAIMER:IF U R READING THIS, ODDS ARE I AM NOT REFERRING TO U. Ie. PE people)has shocked me with how much your perception of them changes when u see them again.For example. Some people who seemed quite cool turned out to be Two-faced Cowards.(at least from my perspective since I tend to take Hard line in Ethical qaundries.)The more people I get into contact with (over the years) the more cynical I become.They wern't Important or anything my already low opinion of the "common" man just took a knock is all.People have a full day of Lying, Stealing and can still manage to squeeze in some Cheating
before dinner with the Spouse and 2.3 Beautiful kids.And everywhere it is the same. (I realise I am Walking the way of gross generalization but u know what I mean.)
I met some people who Have been Through Hell and back and are some of the most giving, wonderfull people out there. Then there are those fuckers who are just plain weak.Who give in to things from Unfaithfullness to a partner to stealing from a friend.People who apparently despise you and bad mouth you to others because you had the audacity to bring their dirty little deeds to light.That kind of weakness I cannot abide.

RANT END: PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THAT LITTLE TRIADE,BUT VENTING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL.

          TRUST ME ON THIS SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST VULTURES CIRCLING A CARCASS.DEADWEIGHT.

But now for somewhat happier news I will probbly be back in Cape Town late thursday Afternoon.( If all works out according to plan.)The reason I'm up so late trying to decide which system out there will best run my fantasy campaign.
D&d is cool but there is too much focus on wargame-like combat for what I am trying to do. UA just doesnt seem right.(Game mechnics wise) Rune-quest is old but has some merrits (Being very easy to modify extensively.) And using the World of Darkness Mechnics has a certain appeal.(lots of work though.)I want a system that can be flexible for storyline while retaining some complexity.(Not Gurps- Lara's Dave has been trying to get me to like it.I don't mind playing it but it is not a system I would like to DM.It jus too......generic :] (It would make me very happy, and all tingly inside, if you could run it as an Ars Magica campaign. It has the best Magic system I have ever played, it has simple combat rules that can be expanded easily to include more complex actions... and dammit I am just dying to play in an Ars Magica game!!! - ShadowsLight)

Any way the sleep gremlins have the mallet prepped so Adios for now comrades.

06 JAN 04 - Upbeat despite the Hour.

The new year has arrived and it has been good.New years eve was great. SWIMMING POOL+ NUBILE YOUNG LADIES + FOOD + BOOZE + GOOD FRIENDS = Good times :)
The last couple of nights I went crazy and I drew straight through into the next day. The drawings look kinda cool(done in black india ink with pen),planning on doing more.
I actually enjoyed drawing for a change, which was really nice.I'm actaully getting my campaign in gear so thats cool.I just feel much bouncier (spelling?) this year, kinda inspired.I'm busy lissnen to old trent( he rox ) and feelin good right now (it's been a while.)I do not know why but immediatly after a new year's I go into Uber focus mode and just grind away for hours and hours. (ON a side note movies due for release this year- Predator vs. Alien , Hellboy, Lost in translation, Big Fish ect. looks ike it's going to be a exciting year for movies.)

24\25 December - Christmas Shoutout.

I FUCKING HATE IT WHEN THE WIKI DOES NOT SAVE PROPERLY....fuck fuck FUCK!!
I had a long update finished which took a friggen halfhour to type. It was interesting it was witty involving Lots of food, dodgy Christmas carols from the 70's, Shafting siblings with cheap ass crap presents, the usual suspects(That fine bitch Mary,Grand mastah J and the rest of the nativity crew), oh yeah and one fat fuck dressed in red who likes little children. He gives them a "present". Sick fuck.

Anyway Merry Christmas everybody.

5 November ---- Studying sucks grande donkey kahunas.

I study Fine Arts right... so when exams time comes around I actually have to sit behind a desk for hours and study, now u upper campers you might think "yeah so ? u friggin wuss." BITE ME.
I am not used to it as 80% of my course is practical work which keeps me up till crazy hours and this is where I vent, blehh.Then again I could be working for real.....scary.I'm writing exams tomorrow and am yet to start studiyng aahhyheeee! Oh yeah and I'm watching Matrix tonight.I hope it's good.
Unlike the last "Episose 1"like piece of poo.Story sucks,Chop suey stunts cool. Unfortunately in my book overall story/plot is what wins the day in the end and sends me home smiling.But it's OK I will put on my L337 Ninja hat and kick it's ass, since the course is ass.

4 November ---- Only one week left.

Only one week left till my exams are over.Prior to friday i had to stay wake for almost 3 days straight to get all my work done for the exhibition. After sleeping I had a good night out.Highlights were:
1- Making duncan laugh so much he puked on Jim's Carpet. 2- Watching the antics of 3 lads trying to score (ask Duncs about his DY-NO-MITE pickup line. Lots of psycho females out there.)
3- Going to Gallery till about 7:30 in the morning (my ears were still ringing two days later.....earplugs goooood thing to take along next time.) I checked out "Matchstick men" at cavindish on saturday evening, and it was quite kewl.(Directed by Ridley Scott. Film is about a conman with some serious issues.)
After reading gareth's addition to "loathed in Joburg" i feel like I am woefully unprepared for life after studies as I have forgaotten so much stuff about how the design software works Flash, freehand, Photoshop and quark im sorta okay with its the other's like html,java and dreamweaver i am clueless about (or forgotten how to use em.).... that makes me sad in pants.
And on that note creepy critters i'm off like old milk. ba-bye fer now.

P.s. I found a cool new insult/concept nl."Anal-dwelling butt-monkey" see it's a monkey that lives in someones butt.(watch Bruce Almighty.)

22 October ---- Some entries never saved properly

It's been a while been I find myself in front of this screen, a girlfriend has come and gone in a strange blur of red.My roleplaying drought is continuing as once again my course taking my over the table and teaching me the ways of the painful waddle.One day I wil be a master at whimper fu.Aaanywaay my porti/Exhihition hand in is due next friday so happy days are almost here.I'll still be around till about mid November as I have 21st and things to go to.Unfortunately it seems that I will miss Schpat-con and since that happened last year as well grrrr...I would have liked to Check'r out.Not to worry since I have two campaigns I will be involved in nl. Deadlands and Lo5r(woot! my favourite.)
Anybody who wants to wreck a couple of beers after exams gimme a holler and we can chill in December hoolliday bliss.I recently had a look at Halo and it seems a bit gaaay maybe multiplayer is better? Jedi Academy was quite kewl though (Light saber deuls are the shiznazz. I am buying the 2ed l5r Players guide soon and I am salivating at the prospect,Yes I admit it I have Fanboy factor coming out my hooha(If fanboy factor caused excessive hair growth call me chewie "Ooorg Aarghh!")I turned I ripe old 24 on the 5th of August and hid the fact from most folks since I am not quite ready to be called grandpa yet.(I feel ancient when compared to most of the peepz in "new" Claws.)I dont know why but I have the energy to rival the most sprightly 240year old, Must be since I am almost a quarter century old ..... Bwhaaaaa :( (scary oh so scary, six years and Ill be the big 3,0.) Well now that that's out of the way i'll get out of the way.

P.S - If any folks out there like legends of the five rings, try out their home page, in the fiction section is loads of kewl short stories related to all thins rokuganese.
The company that produces Lot5r is called "Adlderac Entertainment Group(AEG)" If you are playing in Brendans game though I would advise waiting till after the December campaign.

24 July ----I must have been smoking crack

After reading my previous entry I am convinced I was high on sleep dep and coffee cos reading it now after a months time, it seems to me that I sounded like a complete Assmonkey. Forgive me for I know not what happened.Anyway ICON was quite yummy , I really liked both the Larps I was in (Playing Jack Madden from on the friday was a ball).A couple of interesting modules were run.I lost my Mug dammit :( . Oh yeah my Costume kicked ass and I won the Comp.The prize was a Biltong Hamper which lasted all of Five minutes as I was surrounded by Ravenous Clawites :) also someone nabbed my FOKKIT hotsauce. Mag jy vir die res van jou lewe aan Spuit poep lei.(Bit of the Mothertounge)
Anyway the Sunday ended on a low note as I was struck down by a most heinous case of death flu. Damn that Purple Booze!! I think it caused my thoat infection.Steve seemed simalarly Afflicted ,as a result of this terrible affliction I might not finish my Illusatation Book in time for IMPACT 2003.(Print Expo) ps. I am not sure if I qualify as being part of claw anymore since I havnt played in anything besides ICON since forever (or DMed? for that matter) as real life keeps getting in the way ....sigh.

26 June ----OH MY LORD! WTF !

Been playing lan games at my house since last friday, it rocked my world baby. Even though I suck balls at TA I still Enjoyed it ,got schooled like a little schoolgirl though. :( Also went through 2 Diablo2 Hardcore Characters (Damn Durance of hate and doom Knights in Act 4)Altough now I have a bouncing baby Barbarian who seems past the growing pains.I also have finally realized warlords battlecry 2 is a unbalanced piece of shit, sigh.

Although I am going cazy waiting for the goddamn D2 1.10 patch check this shit out.

 A set Item that turns the necomancer into a Vampire using Fire Skills. +10, plus MthrFckng 10 to meteor ,cazy...I like Pizza Steve! I like it!

Exams are over and i am Home! Haaaoooommme! God ,I missed my famjily however soppy that sounds, ennyway my midyear was kak with a capital Fuck YOU, the supid whore (when refering to my Digital/new media work) said "how am I supposed to know you did this? " who the fuck else did it, the tooth fairy?
The other night I worked an the Dragon15fire visuals(website) and have a perlim version which Brendan needs to have look at. Ian has it at his flat. I am psyked for GenCon and want to make a kick-ass costume and i have acces to latex so mebbe I'll give that a try.Some ,thing with a piquant falvour o' horror as I have some animal skulls Who's horns I can use.....I can't decide if that's gross or not.NoW? if only I can think of a cunning plan.....BWUAAAHAHAHAHA !!
If anybody thinks a claw-toon would be interesting drop me a line.Maybe call it CLAWed? or something.We can mock Shaun's(Wombat) hair ,Cass's maniliness,Ian's famous "I understand, but..." or whatever, could be cute.The claw "group" is very fragmented at the moment so I don't know if it would work. Hi my name is Yancke and I have a Problem.
I have come to realise I have no stamina,not rolling in the hay or the running a marathon kind but the stick with a project till it is finished kind. I start with one idea and sumthing else pops into my head and off I go abandoning the first one to be seduced by the new one ,which always seems "shinier".(and by that I mean newer)

 So in the end I don't get any thing finished but I have a bijilion gijilion half way finished projects lying around.(mostly roleplaing stuff)

They say that recognising your problem is the first step to fixing it.

        .........I'm not sure about that..........
So anyway I have decided to attempt my spankiest idea yet(By that I mean something that I would enjoy!

There are so many cool things that can be done and characters to play

         The wizards,the witches,the night watch cmot Dibler(sausage inna bun anyone?)
         the list goes on and on and on......
         Oh yeah wouldnt it be cool if death was a dm and whenever someone died a time
         freeze is called and death and the ghost roleplay it out (kinda like in the
         books)
         the only hitch that I can think of is villians in pratchett books tend to peg
         off after one book.

I'm sure u guys can imagine which clawites would be perfect to play the much loved fictional charaters from the books.
Ive talked to a few people about it and so far the responses i've gotten have been surprisingly positive. A lot of people voted for Ian(the Hairy one) as the Librarian.:) (ook ook).

This will probably be a long term process since it's scope is Very large.(Sheer amount of stuff to think about,like accurate represntation of the books, plot which charaters to incude.....and there are many, ect.)

After stalling my players so far,with varsiity madness and all I should be ready soon.
Now if I can only remember what I did with my Notes?

Friday 3:29 am (some time in Febuary)

Traffic noise sucks balls......can't sleep.Regionals(Magic) on sunday and I need to playtest tomorrow early ....shit.No one will probable read this but I have nothing better to do.

         *SIGH-

I have been toying with starting a 3rdED campaign titled -The Darkness beckons-

  Set in White wolf's Scarred lands campaign setting around 150 years after the defeat
  of the titans by their children,the gods.The world is pretty much still screwed over by
  the devine war but it is recovering and the devine races have cemented their
  dominion over the titansawn.With cities like Hollowfaust and Mithril as Bastions of
  light in a dark age.

However...the TitanSpawn are by no means finished ,yes their patrons have been

  vanquished but they are more organized than ever and have a new weapon something they
  have the devine races to thank for.

  the traitorous gods...they have had 150 long years to plan, foster their forces and
  above all hate the ones who broke the cosmic cycle represented in the titans.
  In Hornsaw the Gorgons stir.......The Wrack Dragons have returned....The Pride is
  once more on the march....all these sign have yet to be recognised by the Devine
  races as they slumber in their cities of stone and lumber, oh so quickly have they
  forgotten the lessons of the past and their arrogance will be their undoing.

Anyway, a few brave souls showed interest and have made characters even though no lists have been put up yet and I have yet to "conscript" the rest of the group.
My intention is to avoid running "ye old Dnd crawl" at all cost and run a story oriented campaign with a little bit of everything from elements of bone chillng horror, to archnemesi plotting like the devil himself... in other words expect to be messed with and take nothing for granted. My species can be found dwelling in the Eastern Cape(Scientic Classification:Infernalis Dubious Maximus).Contrary to popular belief I come in the form of a human male with aposeable digits.Some of u have been exposed to me and like radioactive waste I have a long shelf life.Unlike what u may have witnessed a frantic Hail mary or Our father does not banish me back from whence I came.(It takes something far more powerful ,like failing my exams.)If u like many of u peepz out there would like certain boy bands to expire in a untimely game of "prison bitch"this might be the place for u.
