Turn Structure
A Turn in Trees is structurally very simple and can be broken down into three phases:
- The Draw Step: During this step the player draws enough cards to fill his or her hand to it's maximum size. The maximum size is the number of cards initially drawn when the game begins, as is described in the Game Setup section. However, a minimum of 1 card MUST be drawn. Thus, a player with a full hand at the beginning of the turn draws 1 card, thus increasing his or her hand size to the maxmimum+1.
- The Play Step: During the Play step the player can choose to do one of the following:
- Play One card from his or her hand. This is done according to the rules for Playing Cards.
- Move One friendly card in Play. This is done according to the rules for Moving Cards?.
- The Discard Step: During this step the player must dicard any excess cards in his or hand in order to reduce his or her hand size to the maximum defined before game, as described in the Game Setup section. This is only necessary if the player has cards in excess of the maximum.
