Ha ha! It is working! I am using my biggest asset to help me lose weight. What's that, I hear you ask? Your driving perfectionism? Your overwhelming desire to better yourself? No, I say! It's my laziness! It works brilliantly! I merely have to ensure that the easiest food at hand is also the healthiest :) Hence I make sure that I always have a big bag of apples and a couple of cans of tuna on my desk, and voila! I am sorted. It's my most foolproof plan ever, since there is very little that can defeat my laziness. (except munchies, perhaps? No, not the smoking ones, the normal ones! - GeekDotNeo)

25 August 2003

Eh, well, still haven't got the work docs I need. At least it looks like we are going the cheat/easy way, which just means setting up ISDN right so that I can gateway over it. I hope that is possible, otherwise I will be really upset. Ag, it should be, in which case I am well sorted :) Richard is still getting on my nerves, to the point of me looking for a new job. I just have no desire to work on any more projects that are as badly managed as all of his are.

Yay! Mythos last night was awesome :) Haven't played in far too long, and I even won one game :) We are doing it again next Sunday at Jess' place, for anyone interested.

Chelle's party on Fri was the bomb-diggidy, despite all the tech-talk and geeky cock-waving of laptops :)

16 August 2003

Gandalfs last night was awesome :) Even though most of you people left early :P Anywayz, I am all for this being a regular outing. Maybe not every weekend, but often. And more pool! Need more pool. Although I might be so fucking busy this month. Dunno, will have to see. I also might just tell the boss that I can't learn what to do and do it in the 2 weeks that are left of this month (after getting the final specs on Friday), and that he must hire someone to fix his organisational fuckup. It'll mean I lose out on the incentive, but fuckit. If I can't do it, I'll lose out on the incentive anyway.

Dammit, why are once-offs never once-offs? The one we played last weekend has now run over a second session, and so it will be (at least) 3 sessions. Oh well, it's fun, so whatever :)

Munchkin-Fu is rocking. We must play more :) And get StarMunchkin?, and Munchkin, and add them all in ^_^ Also I am keen to play some Mythos again, or Magic, or whatever card games. Maybe I'll haul out my Abduction too :) It's been way too long for me. I love card games :) Ooh, and maybe some bridge sometime :) But then people must avoid dissing their partners and starting fights.

Apologies to anyone who I have bored with my recent constant talk about work. I'll try not to bore you all, but it's a major portion of my life at the moment.

Arg, yes, mass gap, I know. I am a lazy little whore.

Dragonfire was awesome. We like sooo roxx0red the suxx0r, it was unreal. DMing? Shadowcasters (well, Tainted Calamari, but half of them had SC tees on) was a mission. They kept insisting on breaking the module! But it was a challenge, and ended up being fun :) I also had great fun playing the british secret agent in Austin and Jess' cthulhu module, despite having to lock two of the other characters up in their room for being drunk and disorderly. I ended up at Gandalf's every night of the weekend, and much sleep was not to be had. I am so fucking tired now, since I had my regular campaign sessions on Mon and Tues.

Just a big shout out to all of Thurteem for being the rockingest buds ever. Dragonfire took over Gandalfs, but we were amongst the stalwarts at the end, and nobody had as much homoerotic licking as us. Perhaps that's a good thing. Apparently patrick claims Waynne gave him an ear infection from licking his ear. I don't wanna know what Waynne's been doing with that thing...

Blerg! Stress at work! But I got a raise and a MASS incentive to get the kiosk done on time, so maybe it's worth it :P We'll see. I'm also learning on the fastest curve I have been on in my life, out of neccessity. Prolly worth it in the long run.

Played pool last night with ZenStar, ArchAngel and Daave last night at Lizards. Great fun, and I was actually playing pretty well until the last few games. Dave and I ended up winning 4-3, with my dip in performance being to blame for their comeback :/ We coulda soo spanked them :P

16 July 2003

w00t! Thanks a fucking huge stack to everyone who chipped in and got me a Monev the Gale figurine from Icon :) It is so fucking leet, I can't explain :P It's got ammo-belts composed of individual bullets, with every 5th bullet a tracer or AP or something, and hence marked on the back with red... the attention to detail is stupendous. I'm convinced that maaaaaad people, and only maaaaaad people are employed wherever they made the figurine. Anywayz, the basic idea is, I am fucking stoked, and mad props to all y'all :)

Secondly, the Daiblo 1.10beta patch is teh win! I don't think I have received this many yellow items in a month of playing the regular version. I also found a defence 404 quilted armour elite version, and I have used one of the new cube formulae to give it two sockets. As soon as I find Nef and Lum, I will Smoke it and replace my piddly defence 220 armour. It will 0wnz j00!

On other fronts, I have caught up with the Little Gamers archive (as those who read may be able to tell from this post). It's not that good, really, but was fun nonetheless. Again, I have saved it all, so anyone who wants to check it out in the style and comfort of their dialup or (gasp!) internet-less home need just give a shout (although I dunno how an internet-less house can have any style or class, but you know what I mean)

10 July 2003

Spent all of last night at work. Mostly playing games, but I had to be there for when John and Bernd (he's German :P) needed database assistance or problems fixed. I am now so fucking tired it is unreal. And I still have to look awake for when we demo the kiosk at 3pm. At least there were quite a few things that they needed me for, and I didn't have to phone and wake up Al :) I think I will phone him now and say everything r b cool.

God dammit, I am going to have to redo 2 levels of Blood Rayne now! Basically I finished the one level with just a little bit of health left (I had to kill three very big things at the same time, okay?) and now the next level, there is nobody to suck, and a poison cloud that I need to move through. And I just don't have enough health. And since saves only happen between levels... yeah. Well, it is still a fucking amazing game.

9 July 2003

The Frozen Throne campaign levels (as opposed to the Orc bonus campaign) are fucking awesome. They are so well designed, and take great advantage of Maiev Shadowsong's Blink ability during the NE campaign. Great storyline, am loving it :) Had some tech problems, but have mostly sorted that out now.

Also started reading Little Gamers. Pretty arb, not really all that funny, but I am reading it anyway.

3 July 2003

ToothpasteDealer threw a party for his honours class at FirleighFlats last night. Very slow starting, but pretty cool nonetheless :) People seemed to have difficulty getting in, and standing on the wall and shouting while Duncan looked at them and then went back to Tekken seemed to be the norm. All Duncan's skanky friends (well, not all, but the 2 I have met) came along with their dealer (no, not art dealer) and played Tekken for a while. As they were leaving, the dealer tried to claim that he was actually a lawyer, but he was so obviously high on something that I seriously don't believe him. Everything was "sooo cool!", and he was feeling my walls up, man! Like wtf! He also kept offering to get syringes from his car if I wanted them (to remove the air from my little desk toy, the one with the water and the sand). Chelle said "I seriously hope you're diabetic", but I think she was being optimistic. Steven Croome rocked up later, and we played darts for a bit. Duncan sucks the big one, especially when drunk. Stephen and Francois just edged out Duncan and I, but it was close :) Next time we'll take ya! Oh, and Stephen left tons of alcohol behind, which is fine by me :)

2 July 2003

Ah... the Waterfront CNA employees are actually intelligent. The chick asked me if I had the original Warcraft3, cos I needed it to play. I looked at the three copies I was buying (one for me, one for Al and one for Paul at work), and said that yes, I was aware of the fact. But at least she asked :) Have almost finished the Orc levels (so a quarter of the game :P). Having lots of fun.

1 July 2003

Fer fuck's sake! Trying to get Frozen Throne today (was roleplaying last night and so couldn't go to the late night release). Nowhere in Cavendish has, and the fucking moron in Incredible Con has the audacity to tell Al and I that the game has not been released yet. Needless to say, we were very sarcastic to him. I hope he feels like a wanker. Well, we are going to the Waterfront CNA, which seem to be the only place in Cape Town that feels that the expansion is a big enough event to actually stock. Oh well. Until then, I guess I will play some Blood Rayne :)

30 June 2003

Awesome LAN this weekend, Ardi joined for CS, he's pretty good :) Well, compared to the rest of us at least. Got a bunch of new games, really cool. Played Blood Rayne and Freelancer a lot, will post reviews for both in a little while. Once I find time :P Both fucking awesome, although Blood Rayne has some irritating levels (and some very difficult levels :P {which I have now passed, thank god - not too difficult once you work out the trick}). Freelancer has the easiest to control space flight mechanism I have ever come across, at least in the alternate control mode. But more about them later.

Spent last night at Panchos and Cool Runnings with Jo and Chelle, had a great time, great food, etc. Then we went back to Chelle's place and drank coffee and watched them repeat vids on MTV. They were good (pr0n) vids tho, so we weren't complaining.

25 June 2003

Just finished all the CrimsonLand quest levels on hardcore, and man is the last act hardcore! But, they do give you an extra weapon for completing them all, so that is pretty cool :) It sucks compared to the Ion Cannon, but is pretty funky anyway.

And Michelle is moving out of FirleighFlats :( This is very sad news indeed. While she is not moving all that far away, it is still a lot more than 2 doors down. She will just have to come visit a lot :) I wish you all the best of luck with your new place, Chelle.

UPDATE
Nenad just phoned me to say that he and Karinda have decided to open their sandwich (nadwich?) bar at night until 9. They will be getting in board games and cards, a la Coffee Bean on Main, from the 27th of July (this Friday). This is also the start of the Obs Xmas in July promo. Apparently people will be decking their shops out in Xmas stuff, and there will be a tree on top of the bottle store

22 June 2003

Oh my god! The new CrimsonLand is sooooo amazing! Wow! Just been playing it for ages! Brill. When I stop playing it (eventually), I will review. If you need cracks, I have, although it was a mission to find. Wow! >gone< to play some more.

21 June 2003

Arg!! Too much Tekken 3 with Duncan, my hand is sooooo sore. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or something. That and console thumb, the two banes of fighting games especially. But Duncan, Si and I are all learning a lot of the moves. I really like the way the Tekken series put left-right-left combos together. By this I mean it is faster going l-r-l than it is constantly attacking with the same limb, something that is obvious in real life. Makes me happy :)

Ah, the bane that is trivia. Already stayed up until 4am this week - will it ever stop, yo, I dunno, check out the mike... erm, I mean, I am awesome!!!!

And lastly, a link to a cool Q&A session with Blizzard about the upcoming Diablo2: Lord of Destructio 1.10 patch here

19] June 2003

Ah, the great outdoors! Finally finished Warcraft3. The much feared final level I thought was a bit of a walkover, once I realised you could sacrifice the Human and Orc bases. It's all for the good of the wild, after all. A million moonwells seem to be the answer, and I wiped the level first time, no problem. Blizzard have again come out with some amazing cutscenes, and the end credits are really funny :) Unfortunately they tell me to come back once I have completed the game on hard - the bastards! Oh well, nothing for it I guess.

Installed Unreal 2: The Awakening on my machine last night. Very shiny, very cool, although you move very sluggishly. Unfortunately, even with everything off or set to lowest details, it still breaks my machine. Prolly because of the 128 Megs of memory. I should save up for some more.

Oh, and Dave Sharpe broke Al's headphones, and now he's pissed :P Well, the headphones worked beforehand, and by the time he was done, they weren't working properly.

17 June 2003

Well, I have finally finished going thru all the old ]] and ]] web comics and saving them. Anyone interested in getting copies of them from me need just ask, preferably via email ). ]] is 54 Megs big, while ]] totals 29 Megs at the moment. If people want me to go thru other comics saving them as I go, recommend one to me and, if I think it is worthwhile, I will comply. Also, almost finished Warcraft 3. The damn wiki (and irc) keep sucking me away tho, god dammit! Oh well, back to Warcraft I guess :P

13 June 2003

Well, SynKronosReviews is up and running, with WormsBlast and the HarBinger demo being the first two victims. Still waiting on D2:LoD? and War3:FT, but I will see what else I can scrounge up to review in the meantime :P Hmmm... maybe Ultra Assault...

8 June 2003

Due to peer pressure, I have also decided to add a reviews section, SynKronosReviews. There is nothing there yet, but I will put stuff up asap. The first things I will review will prolly be: WormsBlast, Diablo2:LoD? 1.10 patch (when it comes out) and maybe Frozen Throne. But we shall see :P
