DuncanSellars

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Duncan Sellars joined UCT in 1995, and instantly became a CLAWmember, and also member of the old TolkienSociety?. Because he was living in Leo Marquard Hall and had come from the provinces, first year was spent enjoying freedom by drinking too much at Lloyds (the local bar in Rondebosch) and failing Maths and narrowly failing Computer Science, but passing Psychology with ease, which says something for psychology.

More years at UCT followed, as CLAWthing followed CLAWthing (Tracy Dawson, Zara Betts, Dylan Craig, Robanne Miller, David Seaward). A particular moment of note was hitching a lift to Icon, when Patrick Schreiber's car broke down at midnight in Leeugamka, 100kms outside Beaufort West. Next year, he took the train.

A brief dalliance with political power (Claw's Warlord in 1996, Scrivener in 1997) was attempted, but the intrigues and rigours of bureaucracy were too much and Duncan went back to concentrating on studying and doing lots of roleplaying, larping, and card-gaming (Magic: the Gathering, Netrunner, and Cthulhu Mythos, mostly), although he was always first and foremost a roleplayer.

Achieving a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science in 1998, Duncan went on to gain an Honours degree with a first in the same subject in 1999. Eschewing a Masters in favour of filthy lucre, Duncan went to work for a software company, but was lured to the chilly shores of England in 2000 and has been there since then, joining a circle of ex-UCT roleplayers to achieve his insatiable cravings for Cthulhu sessions.
