Don Manuel del Alhambra

When the LiberalAcademicRevolutionaryParty? runs out of money, they count on the aristocracy to settle their debts. When the aristocracy run out of money, they can count on Don Manuel to settle their debts. That's how rich you are. You own just less than 4% of the land area of the RepublicOfGuevaria?, and your income amounts to 7% of the country's annual legal gross domestic product.

You are currently arranging an arms deal and believe that you could resupply either the GuevarianArmy or the peasant RevolutionaryConvention of your own party.

You are a leading aristocrat because you are generally acknowledged to speak for the CortesOfTheCastilianDelegation?. But you see yourself as a progressive - whether or not the revolutionaries and intellectuals do. (Your version or liberalism means being a little less patronising to the lower classes than are some of your peers.)

Your agricultural success in coffee, chocolate and tobacco you intend partly as a demonstration that a good farmer need not rely on the export of cocaine. You are an outspoken opponent of the GuevarianDrugMoney?, though you know many members of the Cortes profit from it. You also know that the same people who support the cocaine trade support the GuevarianDeathSquads. Who they are you do not know. But it would satisfy you if both GuevarianDrugMoney? and the GuevarianDeathSquads were eliminated.

Your wastrel son DiegodelAlhambra needs discipline and guidance. He will, of course, try to avoid any patriotic commitments to the future of the country. At the last congress, you obtained for him the post of treasurer of the party. He almost entirely avoided doing any work in this job but nobody knows this since you did it all for him. You are going to make DiegodelAlhambra run for the job again or, failing that, for another post in the party. He wants to go to Saint Mauritz in the near future. Maybe you can persuade him of his priorities by threatening to withhold his allowance for the trip.

You suspect that, despite having been told several times, Diego probably has not written a speech as report from the Treasurer. You should write one yourself and give it to him (this is a preparatory task for the player). This will be an excellent opportunity to renew his chances for a second term, since the party's finances are in perfect shape.

Motivations at a glance

  1. Decide who you will supply arms to and settle the deal.
  2. Get your son DiegodelAlhambra re-elected to a prestigious position in the party.
  3. Figure out who profits from GuevarianDrugMoney? and who runs the GuevarianDeathSquads and find a way to eliminate that person.
