LeavingOnAJetPlaneYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Well, at work early today. Just dropped Phleep at the airport. He's flying to the UK today. :-(. I will be a very sad and lonely Jo for a while, but at least it's only 3 weeks this time, and not a year and a half. We were up late last night packing. Funny thing is that he's got more of other ppl's stuff to take than he has his own stuff. At least 3 packages for other ppl's family in the UK. It's good that he's taking a bigger suitcase though, means he can bring back more stuff for me!! Teacakes!!!!! Ahem. In recent news: Chelle's party was cool, made lots of little pies that were very good, apparently. Yule was good too, played the gift-stealing game, got some frankincense and a cool wooden box. Finally sent off my Xmas cards. Hope they get to ppl in time, especially the foreign ones. Been vegging mostly this week, reading Iron Council by China Mieville. It's really good. Organised a surprise dinner for Philip on Wednesday, all you can eat Chinese food. Was well-attended and I think he enjoyed it, although the surprise was spoiled by him seeing a suspiciously-titled email in my Inbox :P. Going to Betty's Bay this weekend for a well-deserved rest. Looking so forward to it, now that the person mentioned in the last blog is no longer going. I don't feel bad, not one bit. D@vid is housesitting. No wild parties, Raoul. Don't explode my flat, and if anything whatsoever happens to my cat, I'm coming after you. Be warned :-p. In an interesting aside, I went to buy some illumination supplies at the Deckle Edge yesterday, and came across something called "Ox Gall". I was thinking "what an odd name". Then I looked at the ingredients: clarified ox gall. Yumm. Apparently it makes watercolours do something cool. I was considering buying some and drinking a spoonful everyday, in the hope that it might help with my little gall-bladder problem. I bought gold ink instead. It was shinier. Will invest in some gold-leaf sometime too. Mmmm, pr0n golden scrolls. Also quite funny: at the Chinese dinner, Cara says to me: "I don't know if you'll know what I'm talking about, but on CSI the other night they talked about something called "furries". Do you know what they are?" LOL!! So, Adrianna and I enlightened her on the differences between furries, anthros and plushies. Hehe, she was very interested. Have sent her some cool links to Caliban etc. I find the whole furry thing hilarious. These ppl with a fox/dragon/mermaid "fursona". I nearly died laughing. Expect a terribly cheesy furry module for next Schpatcon. |
