You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Damn, Krakatoa's gig on Saturday was amazing. Best gig so far, and hopefully not the last. Ben (the bass-player) is leaving for the UK soon and Alan is going to India for 2 months, so the band's going into hibernation. There are rumours of a new bassist, though. Yay!! And I so need to get Ivan a purple muscle-top with gold glitter lettering reading "Guitar God". Fingers of fury!

The other bands, Sunspot and 3 Bored White Guys, were also awesome. Sunspot play a mix of a vaguely Portishead slow jazzy sound and a vaguely rocky acoustic guitar sound. One of their songs, Poesnaaier, is great, even if you have to explain it to the Japanese. 3 Bored White Guys are really cool, playing some Golden Hits of the 50's and 60's as well as a few Stones covers and original works. I really liked them, not just because of the cute lead guitarist guy. I was seriously going to get up and dance (I can do the twist :), but the dancefloor was a bit packed. You know it's a good band when people can't help but shake their money-makers. I really wish Krakatoa had recorded a CD before Ben left, though. Bleh.

Other than that, weekend was chilled. Went out to dinner at Pancho's on Friday night for Ivan's birthday, where Toby presented his present. For those of you who don't know, Toby and Ivan have a little competition going on who can give the other the dodgiest present ever. One year Toby gave Ivan a porno called "Itsy Bitsy Gang Bang". Yes, you guessed it, it's a midget porn. Last year, Ivan gave Toby a small plastic foot with a "love-tunnel". Yuck. It's really gross. So, this year, Toby started early, and made Ivan a website that turned into an e-book. It's called "In the Saddle" and it's basically Ivan's head photoshopped onto all these horrible gay-porn shots. Really well done, it's scary. And each photo has a humourous blurb piece with it. The front page is Ivan's head on a pic of David Hasselhoff and you are required to rub his speedo'd crotch to enter the site. If you don't rub it properly, a little popup reads "Loob my Toob!" and other such niceties. Eish. We started taking bets on who would be the first to a dead hooker, seeing as this can only go downhill, and eventually there will be nowhere to go but dead hooker. I've decided that Pancho's is going the way of Mugg 'n Bean with respect to waiting ages for mediocre food. The waiters are fine, but the fact that we waited an hour and a half for our food was not cool. If it was great food it could be forgiven, but it's not, so sorry. No more Pancho's for me!

Last night we played Vampire with Michael, Simon and Adrianna. It was cool, except for the taking 5 hours. I blame Michael and his really long decision-making. That's what you get when you play uber-strategy. I neartly died laughing when Michael kept tapping my vamps and then trying to bleed me, and I'm like Guard Dogs (untap a tapped vampire when being bled) or Cat's Guidance (pretty much same) or Rat's Warning (same again). I have loooots of those. It was so funny. Then I Arsoned Mike's really cool location that gave him lots of blood. He was not impressed. I died (eventually) and Simon won. But it was an epic game. Next time, we start in the morning. Poor Ada, though, feeling ill today. I blame the bag of roasted pumpkin seeds she ate last night.

Also, booked my driver's test for end July. Yay. Pity it couldn't have been before Icon. Oh well. I still have to write my sternly worded letter to Milnerton Traffic Department. If you don't know the story of my evil test-official, ask me sometime.

That's about it. Hope to see you all at Phleep's gig at the Armchair on Wednesday.
