ThisPlaceIsCursedCursed

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. sigh I am knackered, really knackered.

The past week consisted of work, meetings (usually relating to work) and getting the larp sorted...although I must admit: Ian's comment to this past larp being cursed might be true:

 * Mail not going through between marshalls
 * Mail not going through to players
 * Bronwen coming down with a severe headache
 * Reuel taking a fall down a flight of stairs and concussing himself

Plus the misunderstranding between marshalls :-D
I can't comment for everyone, but most seemed to enjoy themselves...I never got a chance to chat with anyone cos either they were in hurry to leave or I was busy packing up...and before hand I was busy with setting up and getting changed - plus it would have been bad form to discuss personal lives while I was supposed to be larping. SO, I got away with "being fine" whenever someone asked. Whether or not it was is irrelevant.

Does this qualify for a fridge quote?
Sean Louw: "My Leige, your sword!" Hendri Cawood: "Shove it!"

Long Street Festival on friday was fun - also got to spend time with David and Antz while we wandered around. Had a lot of fun running into some VC students and chatting to them. Not as busy as it could have been, but it was fun none the less.

Saturday morning I kicked off the volunteering at Wynberg Public Library - this is going to be a lot of fun cos I got some interesting questions...also it was fun seeing the kids who had left their projects until the last possible minute: I had 4 mothers come to me asking for a book on sea mammals cos their grade 2 child had a project. Although the question about the water-screw baffled me, I know what it is, but I didn't have a clue where to look.
The afternoon was spent writing ability cards and the like...must admit the hours running up to the larp was a lot more relaxed than normal.

Sunday was Adam's birthday braai - we were at Tokai forest and I'm bloody stiff from the cricket game...although it was hilarious watching the body shots Wes and Adam bowled onto Eugene - I can only imagine how his body feels. While at the braai we couldn't help but be amazed at people's sense of being inconsiderate - Adam arrived on his motorbike (only to learn that motorbikes weren't allowed - cos they make a noise when people speed up and down with them - but they let him in anyway) On the sign there is also No loud music allowed. We parked about 100 metres away from the nearest people and their music sounded like it was right next to me...that and the revving of cars...fortunatley Tokai forest isn't a place I hang out often.

At least it looks like I've got my accomodation sorted - chatted to Kev on friday...he's waiting for me to get there and then a group of us will get a flat or house together. Although I'm not too keen on Wimbleden, I heading to London to see another place, not meet MORE south africans ;-)

Comment: just don't talk to me about paradox (by d@vid on 2005-03-14 13:10:56)

the LARP was great you fretting foondangle, just don't let the committee wrangling drag on, thereby forcing mages to turn swords into apples to amuse themselves

(it wasn't me!)

Comment: paradox was fun...for me (by BlueHands on 2005-03-14 15:12:54)

I was standing by the sword when it was turned into an apple. Although not enough spent to make it a permanent effect though...just don't tell Amy or Hendri!

Comment: That's what you get for turning "Matter" into Fruit! (by WombatBoy? on 2005-03-14 20:12:48)

The LARP rocked and that's even though the only ability I used didn't work.
