EtheariacsYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. A diverse group of individuals of different background and species who put themselves into unlikely positions of power, steering the world towards a safer future. It is commonly thought that the Great Collapse of the old world was due to lack of such guidance. A significant portion of the populace derives enormous security from the idea that there is an actual plan to what is happening to them - so the myth persists. The rumoured members of such a society run from the one-eyed cat inside the Enigmafluxatron to the Overlord's bowling consultant, to the Overlord himself, or alternatively the Hive-mind intelligence that may or may not be controlling the Overlord. Roach-friend Cynthia Payne-Liss'Xtk, the Underdweller, and just about anyone in Mother's Army have at some time or another claimed to be one of the Etheariacs, to greater or lesser effect. Their actual effectiveness and even existence is in dispute, but there is an argument that the bare chance of their existence has made the tribes of the New Age more pliable, easily pleased and less likely to throw up a fuss. As such, some ascribe the invention of the Etheariac Myth to the Overlord himself. Of course, that's just what the Etheriacs would like you to think.
