The disorder grenade is a disaster-era weapon which uses the same principles as the genetic blade, but has the directly opposite effect. The viral load of the DG causes rapid, random and uncontrolled mutation. Caches of DGs? in various states of usability are occasionally discovered during excavations of ancient ruins. Accidental DG discharge is the currently favoured explanation for many unsolved disappearances of pioneer archaeological teams. Use of DGs? in combat is banned both by pan-tribal treaty and by an edict of the Overlord. The naturalist-terrorist Mother's Army is notorious for disregarding these laws, and considers the DG to be a poetically just tool in its armed struggle against the practice of corruscation, which it finds loathsome and immoral.
