While not as fearsome as its close but larger relative, the GeneticBlade?, the Balanodron is nevertheless a remarkable device. If wielded by one skilled in the art it may restore barren fields, turn saplings into full-grown trees and induce patches of desert to bloom with strange alien life. However, unpredictable after-effects are not uncommon. The few which exist are highly sought-after and have engendered no small number of armed conflicts. In fact, the specimen I examined came into my possession only after it was lost by the Harisii during their recent war with the most fierce of desert tribes, the Sibirica. Thankfully I was able to donate it to a worthy cause, in exchange for a small financial consideration, before either side became aware that it had been recovered. A balanodron consists of five 15mm-long double-edged steel tines, lying parallel to and placed symmetrically about a central axis. Situated approximately two-thirds of the way along this central axis is a small cylinder to which a handle and the aforementioned blades are attached. The space thus enclosed forms the genbustion chamber. As first theorised by EldoradoBravida?, is his book Genetics at the Geriatric Edge, it appears that each of a balandron's tines is a miniaturised GeneticBlade?. My own observations confirm this, although how the arrangement in the balandron prevents epitrotic build-up is unclear. The AlmanacOfTheArmageddon tells of a balanodron of enormous size, possibly as much as a meter in length, which will herald the Great Rebirth. The power such a device would command is unimaginable.
