Awto-scribe The Awto-scribe is the mechanism used to promulgate the Overlord's most sacred dictates. It was built in the 20th cycle in the Season of Five Sheaves by the great Santil-afik, founder of the groundbreaking Academy of Slate. It comprises two pre-Fall artifacts hald at the perfect relationship to one another in a gold filigreed frame. The first is a red case with two turnable controls, allowing any desired text or schematic to be drawn on the screen. It seems to be mechanical rather than fluidically powered. The second part is a far more complex artifact it is powered by one of the delicate screens that draw fluid from the Suns. It is a black device, requiring supply wth the limited cache of black cards it processes. Upon activation it turns one of the cards instantly into an image of the case screen.
