MarkingAndStudentMutterMutterYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Either students are getting more bold in the bull*&%$ or I have a bad bunch. The number of really bad reasons I was given this week for why people wanted extensions, after they were already late for hand in...... or how many students think I wont notice if they print in size 14, or think that if they quote enough, they don't actually have to say anything in their essays.... not to mention after marking nearly 2 groups worth of essays, I have yet to see a bibliography, or the fact that there are ...elipsis... everywhere in the essays that they shouldn't be, after I ranted that they shouldn't use them because I have yet to meet a first year that does know how to use them.... (any comments on how often I use the elipsis wrong in this blog will be ignored as it is not formal writing that needs to conform to academic standards, dammit I have a degree in it i can now break it... :-D) the rant {angry} goes on but I will spare people the details Went for accupuncture on wednesday, cool, I do this often, but I went to someone I haven't been to before, and that was not the best of plans, (Norm can vouch for how much complaining I did about how sore I was for 2 days...) The guy may be brilliant, but he really doesn't care how much what he is doing hurts (there are different techniques and some hurt more than others) but he did nearly get acidentally kicked a few times, maybe I would have felt better if he hadn't got out of the way when my reflexes decided enoguh was enough. This was an unpleasant new experience for me becuase the person I normally go to doesn't believe pain is necesary, but new man does seem to have had more effect on my horrid neck... may actually go back to him. |
