Session 1:
The characters meet each other for the first time outside their new school. This is the other school, where they send the kids who are too fucked up, or too difficult, or both. They are immediately drawn to each other, seeing each other in technicolour, in a black-and-white world. Some of the teachers also stand out in this way: the stunning Ms Micheals, who teaches history, and whose smile reveals teeth a little too sharp for comfort; Ms Weaver, the english teacher, a tree-hugging hippie who nevertheless radiates a quiet sort of power; and the maths teacher, Mr Bramsby. The five of them are assigned Ms Micheals as their 'mentor', and she shows them unnecessary favour. Already they can see that things are not what they seem at this school. Candice goes off to find the library, and the others head down to the basement for a smoke before their next class. As they open the door to the basement, something scuttles out past their feet. Inside, they find a baby lying in the hearth, its face gnawed off. It dies as they stand there helpless, and in a moment of utter panic, they throw the baby's body in the fire. As they run from the scene, the english teacher barrels past them, heading for the basement in a hurry. i never touched the damned baby! -Skin
Peri slips into the girls bathroom, sits down in a stall and opens her bag with shaking hands. She takes the compass out of her geometry kit, pulls her sleeve up, and draws a deep red line into her forearm. As the blood wells up and drips onto the linoleum, she begins to feel better. As she leaves, she notices something crawling behind the walls.
Meanwhile, the others see someone running out of the boys' bathroom, and inside they find a rat pinned open, its entrails exposed to the air. Later, Peri sees the same boy at a locker. She notices a collection of sharp hooks and blades in the locker, and is immediately drawn. She wants to know how he gets them past the metal detectors, but he spooks and turns away. Peri bends down to touch the bloody footprints he leaves behind him, and her fingers come away dry. Approaching from the other direction, Candice sees the boy's face split from ear to ear in a horrific grin. A little investigation reveals him to be at the school because of several instances of animal mutilation. The local newspaper also announces that the notorious Winecellar Killer, Jim Garrison, has escaped. 20 years ago he committed 3 brutal murders on the Chauvet wine estate.
The five also discover that the english and history classrooms are protected by powerful runes, which cause them to be blasted backwards if they so much as lay a hand on the doors or windows. Kevin's attempts to contact his supernatural friend are thwarted. The school is under heavy magickal protection.
At lunch, Skin and Kevin pick a fight with the strange little boy. He freaks out and pull a knife, cutting Skin badly. His face becomes more and more distorted, and the teachers finally arrive to restore order. The gym teacher gets stabbed by the kid, and it takes the combined casting of Micheals and Weaver to subdue the boy. The five are escorted to the nurses office, where Skin's wound seems to heal instantaneously.
The next day they receive spell books and pr jobs from both witches. It's obvious that there is some competition between the two factions. The five photocopy both books, not ready to pick sides yet. Skin gets himself a locker, and finds several snapshots of very attractive girls inside. He decides he needs a backpack, and lies to Lost Property to get one. Inside is a porn mag, and one girl's face is circled with black ink. A search for her name tells the five that she is missing, presumed dead. She is also in one of the photos found in the locker. Inside the bag they also find a map, with an 'X' on one of the islands in Clear Water Lake. i found a treasure and a treasure map! -Skin
After school that day, Jean-Marie's bodyguard/driver takes them to the island in the family speedboat. He stays with the boat while they hike into the nature reserve, through dense forest. They come to a river spanned by a fallen tree, with a cave on the other side. While crossing, Kevin slips and falls into the river below, knocking himself unconscious. Peri jumps in after him and prevents him from being washed away downriver. They drag him to the shore, and prop him, bleeding, against a tree. While his body is beyond his control, in his mind's eye Kevin sees six girls sitting above the cave, tethered with a rope.
Skin crawls into the cave and finds the body of a young girl. Little does he know that her corpse in the mouth of the cave is hiding five others.
