This is some of my poetry. I realise that I can't continue to exploit MoonFlakesPoetryCorner so i made a page of my own. Please take the time to read it. Comments and publishing contracts are welcome.
Birthday Surprise
Crying with those grave-dirt eyes,
She lies among the ashes of her birthday surprise,
Creeping forward, time's cracks appearing along her porcelain skin,
Lips red with rage and wine, wasted flesh and opened heart,
Pouring into the ashes of her birthday surprise.
Geriatric
Electrocution
Substitution
New solution
To the age old lie
Here's to her future
Here's to her sky
That’s the limit
Of our potential institution
Ripe old age
That good old phage
Locked in your cage
Obsolete and incomplete
Filed before destruction
You children love you
Come to hug you
Just before the reading of the will
Stars in Her eyes
Yea, they say she died with the stars in her eyes
And crucified, justified, just denied the truth beneath my well intentioned lies.
I saw her last lapping at the edge of the sea, tide broken, cycle spent,
Her make-up running, her dress rent
She clawed my promises in the sand and watched the waves obliterate my words.
That salt-water stole my sincerity, and I only reclaimed it after it was all too late.
Her tears were merging with the sea, and as I looked on impassively;
I knew she'd made her decision: a cross came riding in on the wash,
I knew her love was lost to me and I was only figment
Of her imagination
She mounted that cross like a martyr, embraced it as a lover,
And properly nailed, she sailed into the sunset, stars rising just beyond my perception.
