SeventhSeaLarpYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Russell and Angel have written another two night LARP for Icon2004. If you're interested contact Russell (russ at worldonline dot co dot za). - ElfBoy Teaser (Written by Russell and Angel)Well, it’s that time of year yet again: Russ and Angi have written yet another two-day event (don’t worry – it’s not nearly as grueling as the last one was – we promise!), and we are looking for interested players as usual. There will be a costume competition, as tradition dictates, along with great prizes, dinner will be provided as usual, and it promises to be a great two-night event if the playtest was anything to go by! Prices, unfortunately, will have to be adjusted due to the nature of the dinner and the general price of food, so expect to pay anywhere between R150 and R200 total for both nights. As those of you who have already visited the ICON website are aware, there has been a change of theme for this year, as the LARP is based on the 7th Sea RPG and is thus set in an alternative Earth at the close of the 17th Century. Please get back to us as soon as possible with confirmation of your interest so that we can cast you and get back to you with costuming suggestions as soon as possible. Blurb (From the Icon2004 website, http://www.rpg.co.za/content/view/31/39/)Chains] of CommandA 7th Sea LARP by Russell Goldman & Angela Wheatley In all the dark and furtive corners of Theah, in all the hideouts and brothels, notices started to appear. “Looking to Start a New Life? Theah not proving to be the Promised Land for you? Start over in the New World!” The nation of Vodacce was offering an exclusive chance to participate in an exciting sea voyage to colonise a huge island discovered far to the West, across the Frothing Sea. All one had to do was bring a ship and crew, or book passage on such a ship, and sign a contract with Vodacce. In return for committing to giving Vodacce exclusive trading rights with the new colony to be formed, each contract holder would be entitled to 50 hectares of land to own, manage and pass down to their descendants. Also, Vodacce would set the tax rate at a fixed twenty percent, guaranteed never to change over the generations. And so, in drips and drabs, a motley fleet of some seventy-five mismatched ships assembled in the main Vodacce harbour. Many invested all they had in a ship, provisions and supplies to set up in the New World. Others came, desperately buying, bartering or cajoling passage on one of the ships. All had their own reasons for leaving behind the entire known world to strike out on a six month voyage to an unknown future. Misfits, runaways, outlaws, or otherwise, all could achieve a clean slate and a fresh start. However, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry… |
