The end of last session saw Kevor go down with a burst of rifle fire to the stomach. Standing in the BlackWater?
Representative's office the rest of the group realise that A) That have to get Kevor to a hospital ASAP! B) That they
better do it fast, before another MP happens to wandert by.
Rigging up a makeshift stretcher using a door they quickly make their way to the nearest hospital, a mere clinic by
most standards. They carefully avoid any encounters along the way and soon arive to find the clinic in disarray. Casualties
have been pouring in from all over the oasis city and the clinic is strained to its limits. AFter? ensuring that Kevor
is given immediate attention they discuss their next course of action.
They quickly decide that Bill should check up on Charles while Kyle and Senten make their way to the docking bay. After
Senten and Kyle leave Bill makes his way over to the unoccupied reception compter and proceeds to locate Charles. No sooner
has he done so than he is acosted by a rather angry doctor. He gets something of a slap on the wrist for making unauthorized
use of hospital resources but the doctor is a little too busy to do anything more than verbally bawl him out. Bill makes his
way to where Charles is located and discoveres that, other than being unconscious, he's doing pretty well for someone who
got shot in the back a few times.
Meanwhile Senten and Kyle make their way to the drop-ship bay as quickly as possible. As they draw near, however, the find
their path blocked by a frantic gunfight occurring at an intersection up ahead. A pair of MPs? is duking it out with three
rovers. With both parties behind cover it doesn't seem like anyone is going to be moving for a while. After debating whether
or not to try and aid the MPs? the pair eventually decide to try and find a way around. The manage (via some not so cunning use
of a street-map computer) to circle around behind the group of rovers, who are so engrossed in the gunfight that they
completely fail to notice the nervious duo sneaking past.
As Kyle and Senten arrive at the Docking Bay Bill sets out from the hospital to join them. Kyle and Senten find the bay
largely deserted, although their own Goliath drop-ship is still there. Making their way to it they find it open, the main
cargo/passenger bay shrouded in darkness. Senten decides to wait at the entrance while Kyle makes his way up the ramp.
Entering the darkness he manages to kick a toolbox over. Amidst the loud clatter he fails to notice a slight movement
within the bay. Taking a step in the direction of the nearest light switch he finally notices another movement. Pausing he
shouts "Halt! TNPA! Come out where I can see you...". The response is brief and painful.
Bill reaches the entrance to the docking bay just as a gunshot rings out. Breaking into a run he makes his way to the drop-
ship. By the time he's arrived Kyle has managed to dive out of the darkened passenger bay, roll down the loading ramp and
pull himself to cover. While Bill and Senten provide some covering fire Kyle hastily bandages the gaping bullet hole in his
shoulder.
The rover within the ship, meanwhile, has moved to the entryway Kyle just hastily vacated and is exchanging fire with the
other two. After about 10 seconds of gunfire he decides to move back into the ship, realising that he his somewhat outgunned.
As he does so, however, he is hit in the back of the thigh with a burst of fire. His diving roll turns into a somewhat less
acrobatic fall and the group lose sight of him.
After waiting a few seconds Senten cautiouslly moves up the ramp. A few steps inside the cargo bay he finds the Rover lying
face-down, seemingly unconscious. Walking past to hit the lightswitch he puts a single round in the back of the poor kid's
head. His clothes now redecorated with a tasteful mixture of blood and grey matter he investigates the rest of the drop-ship.
He finds the two technicians lying further in, both dead, killed execution style.
While Senten prepares the drop-ship for take-off Kyle decides to contact HQ while Bill makes his way to the flight control
offices in order to open the docking bay doors. Kyle manages to contact Major Kesselhof, their CO's aide-de-camp. She advises
them to try and pick-up the other two members of the unit and any other baddly wounded individuals before leaving.
Bill quickly clears the flight control building and, with Senten's remote assistance manages to open the docking bay doors.
Once Bill returns Senten quickly takes the drop-ship up and flys it over to the hospital's private docking bay. After some
hasty negotiations with the clinic staff they are able to get Charles, Kevor and about 40 other seriously injured
people loaded aboard the drop-ship. Kyle also gets someone to see to his shoulder wound and then they're off.
As BlackWater? falls away behind them the group breathes a collective sigh of relief. Even a last gasp attempt by the rovers
to knock their aircraft from the sky with a pair of shoulder-launched SAMs? fails dull their pleasure and they are soon in
Timmins, well away from the somewhat ominously named oasis-city...
