PeacekeepersSession1You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. After 6 months of fairly intense training, prosthetic-arm polishing, gear polishing, aircraft polishing and more the characters are finally called in for an actual briefing. Their CO quickly cuts to the chase and tells them they're being sent to investigate bandit attacks on the remote and highly insular community of Blackwater Oasis. The community, it seems, is being troubled by a rover band. Normally this wouldn't be the kind of thing the TNPA involves itself with, but special circumstances apply. Blackwater is a neutral group and recieves no protection from Northern or Southern forces and has also rejected membership of the Paxton protectorate. More importantly, the rover band seems to be extremely well organised and suspiciously well equipped. Grouped into a Special Taskforce, the characters have a few hours to prep before leaving via a high-speed sub-orbital drop-ship for Blackwatter. Upon arriving they discover themselves to be something of an unwelcome presence. A meeting with the local representative quickly gives the impression that outsiders are unwelcome in Blackwater. This idea is further reinforced while the group attempts to sift the locale for information. The discover the community to be divided into a travellers' section and a locals' section. Unsurprisingly enough, the locals' section is off-limits to them. While unobtrusively (and sometimes not all unobtrusively) panning for info one of the group is slipped a note by one of the few locals present in the traveller's sector. The group are invited to a late-night meeting in the locals' section with the promise of solid information on the rover band. After a few further mishaps the group made their way back to their quarters. They were quickly summoned to see the representative again, however. Word of the group's activities had gotten back to the authorities and the representative happily informed the group to be out of Blackwater by 10am the next morning. Sneaking into the locals' sector later that night proved to be a fairly nerve wracking experience. Some edge-of-the-seat electronics work later, however, the the group were safely making their way to the meet. Arriving they were quickly informed that the rovers were being aided by a traveller, a mole leaking critical defence information to the bandits. Making their way quickly back to the travellers' sector, the group located the mole and burst into his rooms. They quickly located a military-grade communications set and, a few moments later, the mole himself. Waking to the sight of a handgun in the face is never much fun... Comment: Unobtrusively?
