MyriadithCampaigns

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. OOPMan - Erm, can I join?

Tim - It's up to Ryan. I'll let him know you're interested.

Tim - Both d@ve and Ryan seem okay with you joining. We'll let you know about when the next session is due to be. Nothing happening until at least after d@ve's comp sci exam.

A series of mini-campaigns (books) for Ryan Kruger, Tim Lawrance and d@vid seaward on the world of Myriadith. Anybody interested in joining an individual mini-campaign should contact us. Note that the first mini-campaign does have the potential for two more players to join.

Book 1: The Fool's Journey

  • DM:* Ryan Kruger

System

A lite homebrew, subject to interpretation as play progresses: the skeleton of Sorcerer (four stats: Body, Mind, Gestalt, Cover, rolling opposing dice pools) plus a mostly Drama-based magic system kinda inspired by Changeling(abilities determined by Tarot cards). In other words, we roll dice when Ryan asks, and look at Tarot card descriptions when we want to do magic.

Characters:

  • "Bloodseeker", an athletic predatory hunter, Tim Lawrance
  • "Strandwalker", a meddling fisherman, d@vid seaward

Background

At the peak of their technological advancement, the race of Lizardfolk split in two when a large group left for the stars. Those that remained behind increasingly abandoned their technology until one of their number, "Longtooth", discovered how to enter a state of transcendance known as the Gestalt. After a process of self-discovery, he achieved enlightenment leaving the world and Gestalt behind. The others sought to emulate this achievement, following the lessons he had taught them.

Now there are only four Lizardfolk who still remain on this world, as yet unenlightened, though they have all begun their journey. It is believed that the human species will be the next to inherit the world and the Lizardfolk have hidden their previous civilization from them.

Two of the Lizardfolk believe that the return of the space-farers will see them conquering and enslaving the humans, something which they wish to prevent. Leaving their isolated sanctuaries, the two set out to make contact with the primitive humans.

Summary of play

"Bloodseeker" and "Strandwalker" discover that the humans have advanced beyond expectations in the four hundred years since they last saw the species. A large city has been built around a former Lizardfolk building. An upper class of the city, the Guardians, control the city under a leader known as "Longtooth" whom they communicate with through a Gestalt-like medium. At the city's fertility festival, "Strandwalker" is paired with Inquisitor Kern's daughter, a human with a lizard tail.
