The Mortal Combat System

The Mortal Combat System is a generic conbat system that aims to allow RPG combat to take on the insanely over-the-top combo-based action of popular computer, arcade and video games. You know the ones I'm talking about, ones with names like "Tekken", "Mortal Kombat" and "Samurai Showdown". Okay, so a lot of you won't know about the last one, but you get the general idea. And yes, before you ask, the name is a very silly pun on "Mortal Kombat". I pitched it last night and decided it sounded a little more serious than the Weird Combat System, which was the original idea name I dredged up. Anyway, enough shite, and on to the meat of it. Presented below are pages containing the generic outline of the MCS rules, as well as further pages containing system-specific adaptations of the MCS. The system specific adaptations will largely comply with the generic rules, but will fill things out and make the system work. So, anyway, on to the rules and stuff...

More rule system versions will be created over time, if interest in this project is sufficient. Since this is a test project, I really really want people to dump comments. There's a comment section at the end of each page. Use it!
