Preliminary meeting: tonight

Setting and faction creation will take place in the preliminary meeting. (Read the Setting notes beforehand.) Character creation will be completed by players within the following week. GMs? will fine-tune the setup the week after that, and the first LARP will run on Saturday March 19.

Do not set your heart on a fixed character concept before the preliminary meeting, as there are many variables that will be decided only during that meeting. However, you may want to organise associations with other players beforehand, for example: agreeing that you will be in the same naevus or province, or other basic inter character connections.
If you are unable to make the preliminary meeting, but are still interested in the campaign, contact the GMs? beforehand so that we can accommodate you. Note that we also have space for once-off characters in each LARP.

Outline for preliminary meeting

  • Bring a pen and pencil for filling out sheets!
  • Players receive player pack (Setting, Duelling) on sign-up & payment (from 18h00)
  • Meeting starts at 19h00 sharp
  • Division of players into 4/5 groups (10 mins)
    • Minimum 4 per group, maximum difference between groups = 1
    • Assign naevi (birthright factions) to player groups (random order)
      • Blue Swan: Refined dignitaries.
      • Yellow Bear: Down-to-earth custodians.
      • Red Cuckoo: Inspired drifters.
      • Violet Fox: Explorers of the unknown.
      • Green Spider: Calculating architects.
  • Division of cities amongst naevi (reverse order) (10 mins)
    • 3 cities per province, not more than 1 naevus represented per province
  • Naevus concept (by player groups) (60 mins)
    • Assign cities amongst characters
    • NB: Internal voting structure
    • Present brief bio to others to decide on inter-naevus opinion
  • Receive Character sheet, to complete within the week (Friday March 4)
    • NB: Goals, frustrations, background
  • GMs? finalise and tweak (return to players Monday March 14)
