You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. That night their sleep is distrubed by vivid dreams. Eben is back in the library again talking to the same book spirits, but in his mother tongue. The room begins to swirl and change and he finds himself standing on a balcony staring out into the night. A light on the horizon seems to grown and as it approaches him its shape changes to that of an angel. Startled he wakes up, but falls back into an easy sleep. JP drifts off and sees himself climb out of his window and jump to the ground. Rather than landing with a sickening thud he floats down gently on the breeze, controlling his descent. Steering his fall back towards his room he wakes up back in bed. Checking his window, he opens it and allows the cool breeze to waft in as he doses off once more. Lee finds herself driving along a country road with bright sunshine streaming in through the window. The quiet country road is transformed and she's driving along a deserted freeway in the dark. Her headlights pick up a sudden movement in front of her and a figure steps into her path. Swerving to avoid him, she catches a glimpse of another car in the lane next to her and she's jolted awake by the impact of their collision. Frantically searching for her medication she finds the bottle and her cellphone on the floor. Shaking, she picks them up and takes two. Unable to return to sleep she passes the long hours in the dark, her cigarette the only brief flash of life. The next day Lee is reading the res copy of the newspaper and her eyes are drawn towards the headline 'Horror crash on N1'. A quick glance through the article reveals that the details are identical to her dream. She rips the article out and avoids people by finding a quiet corner in the library. Her thoughts of going cold turkey on her medication vanish into the ether. At supper on Tuesday she shows JP and Eben the now very worn article telling them that she was there. JP comments how he's surprised less people didn't try to kill themselves and she storms off to her room. JP gives chase, but is brought up short by a phonecall from Rex Shelling telling him that Harold Flemming had referred him to us. Following Harold's instructions from Sunday evening JP arranges to meet him under the pretense of organising funding for the UCT Surf Club. A small amount of charm allows JP to convince the receptionist at Baxter to let him in despite no answer from Lee. He finds her door locked and his attempts at talking to her are met with non-comittal answers and sullen silence. After a brief moment of peace from JP's onslaught Lee looks down to find rivulets of water flowing under her door. Yanking the door open she yells at him to go away, but he manages to stop her slamming the door shut. She explains to him again that she was there at the accident and doses up on more medication to calm her nerves. Noticing the sudden decrease in number, she realises that she's taken more than prescribed. Worried, JP phones Eben and explains that Lee's more highly strung than usual. As Lee lights up she has a sudden flash of Eben walking down the path to Baxter. A few moments later the intercom sounds and Lee is so startled she drops her cigarette. The boys try to calm her down and they decide on a few games of pool in the Kopano common room. As they enter the foyer Lee sees an image of two indian guys playing pool. When they walk in she draws a sharp breath - the selfsame two guys are at one of the tables. Avoiding eye contact with the two of them she heads straight for the bar. After a while the guys from her premonition leave and Lee calms down enough for JP to explain about the meeting with Rex the next day. They drive out to meet Rex and after suffering through his seemingly ceaseless babble about bonds and investments, manage to get contact details for a guy who works ar Harold's old office, Phillip. Back at 'varsity Eben gives Phillip a call, explaining that we need the Surf Club's website redesigned and he makes an appointment for the next day. On the way back to res Lee sees a flash of Tristan walking up the hill toward them and before she can mention it they bump into him. The second they express interest in learning more about the Ante-Deluvians and his 'cause' he invites them to one of their meetings that Saturday, adding that he believes that their leader will reveal when the Ante-Deluvians will be arriving. They manage to convince him that they heard someone saying that his ideas were bullshit and collectively heave a sigh of relief as he hurries off up the hill to rectify the situation. That night they check up on the Surf Club's current website and discover that it does in fact need some work done. The meeting with Phillip and his boss, Mark Bromage, goes off without a hitch. They mention off-hand that it would be a great idea for the company to sponsor them and advertise on the website. At the mention of money Mark hurrriedly suggests that they contact his uncle, Victor, who deals with the finances. The next day at lunch a black stretch limo pulls up at the place where they'd arranged to be collected. They all happily bundle into the limo and inspect the contents of the bar. On their arrival in Bishop's Court they are stunned into momentary silence by the sheer size and grandeur of the mansion that they find themselves staring up at. The butler ushers them through the labyrinthine lower floor and out towards the back porch. As they hurry after the embodiment of efficiency they make their way past shelves and walls covered with both strange and familiar artifacts. Emerging onto the porch they are greeted by a tall, distiguished gentleman who introduces himself as Victor Bromage. He calmly tells them that he knows why they're there, as no-one in their right minds would be interested in one of his nephew's websites. He mentions that he knows both Elder Laryssa and Lee's grandmother, Clarice Millar, and that he had tried to convince Laryssa at one point to join the Rosecrucians, but that she had both regrettably and understandably refused. As they start to ask more questions, he raises one hand to silence them, explaining that he will not tell them anymore until they have proved ourselves worthy of trust by doing a small task for him. Victor explains that he needs them to retrieve an amulet of his that was stolen from his collection by an ex-Rosecrucian, Joseph Trescothick. The amulet is an essence store and is of little value or use to Joseph. Worried, Eben asks whether they would need some weapon such as a gun to protect themselves. At the mention of a gun, Victor gestures with his left hand and the butler materialises within a heartbeat carrying a .38 special and ammunition on a silver tray. Spooked they press Victor for more information about Joseph.
