The Pit Fighter
Character Information
Abducted, along with numerous other children, by foul demons inhabiting the deserts near Lut Gholein, the Pit Fighter grew up struggling for survival against her fellow abductees. Forced to fight and kill for the amusement of her captors, she grew up to be vicious fighter. Although slim in girth she is nonetheless incredibly strong and moves with the speed of the wind itself. Her preferred weapons are Katars and Claws, although she sometimes makes use of high-speed Repeating Crossbows to dispatch her foes at range. Her range of skills reflect her early life and she comes well prepared for any fight. Her affinity for the use of Claws and Katars is a fearsome sight, although even moreso is her abilty to lay powerful enchantments on the bolts used by her crossbows. These skills are, by and large, demon-taught, and thus can become extremely powerful. The Pit Fighter's primary motivation is that of revenge, a goal she seeks with a bloody-minded singleness of purpose.

Claw Mastery:

Description: The Pit Fighter is incredibly skilled in the usage of Claw-type weapons. She knows exactly what they are useful for, and exactly when to use them. Each point placed in this passive skill increases her AR and damage, as well as providing a chance to critical strike.
Crossbow Mastey:
Required Level: 1
Required Skills: None
Description: In addition to having mastered the use of Claw-class weapons, the Pit Fighter is also highly skilled in the use of Crossbows. Although her preference is for hand-crossbows, she is nevertheless able to use all the various forms of crossbows present within the game. Points placed in this passive skill increase her AR, damage and attack speed while using Crossbow-type weapons, as well as providing a small chance to critical strike.
Weapon Block:
Required Level: 4
Required Skills: Claw Mastery
Description: With sufficient training the Pit Fighter is able to block attacks directed at her using the Claw-type weapons she commonly wields. This ability only comes into play when she wields two Claw-type weapons. While she does so, however, she benefits from a useful chance to block attacks. This skill is passive and each point placed in it increases the chance to block, although the percentage gains at higher levels drop.
Slice and Dice:

Required Skills: Claw Mastery
Description: This useful attack can only be used when at lease one Claw-type weapon is equipped. It allows the character to unleash a flurry of strikes in the same space of time normally required to unleash a single strike. Although each of these strikes is somewhat weaker than the usual melee attack, the overall effect is greater and the speed of the strikes provides an AR bonus to the character. Although this skill only requires a small amount of mana to use it can be used so frequently that it can quickly drain a low or mid level character's mana cup. Extra points only increase the mana cost to a minor extent, however, while decreasing the damage penalty and increasing the AR bonus.
Leap:

Description: Pit Fighting is a mixture of brutal weapon-play and acrobatic maneuvers. Even the most inexperienced warrior quickly learns that the easiest way to survive combat is to outmaneuver one's foe, rather than outfight him or her. This skill enables the character to leap a fair distance, avoiding the weapons of her foes as she does so. Addtional points increase the distance of the leap slightly, as well as increasing the mana cost of the skill only a slight amount. However, the basic mana cost of performing a leap is very low already.
Flaming Bolt:

Required Skills: Crossbow Mastery
Description: Flaming Bolts are a more mundane creation than either Shocking or Freezing Bolts, not being imbued with any real form of magic. Rather, the head of the bolt is wrapped in oil-soaked material and ignited before firing. The effect, however, is the same. Although, the amount of physical damage done by the bolt is reduced, it deals additional fire damage. The mana cost of using this skill is quite low, although it does appreciate with the addition of levels. Extra points further increase the amount of fire damage dealt. The physical damage of the bolts is a constant 50% of normal, no matter how high the level of the skill.
Overload:

Required Skills: Crossbow Mastery
Description: Sufficient mastery of the Crossbow enables the Pit Fighter to load multiple crossbow bolts into her weapon. This enables her to launch a number of bolts with each shot. Depending on the manner in which the crossbow is fired, these bolts will spread out to a greater or lesser extent. The only downside of using a crossbow in this way is that the accuracy is affected. Although this skill does not require a great deal of mana to use, continous use can quickly empty a character's mana cup. At higher levels the mana usage of this skill increases somewhat, although not greatly. Extra points improve the number of bolts launched with each shot, as well as slightly reducing the AR penalty.
Shocking Bolt:
Required Level: 16
Required Skills: Crossbow Mastery
Description: Unlike the Flaming Bolt skill, this skill is magical in nature. Throught the casting of a very simple, but nevertheless elegant, enchantment the Pit Fighter is able to give fired bolts a shocking effect. Those they strike are burned and stung by powerful electrical currents in addition to pierced by the bolt. Although this spell reduces the physical damage of the bolt slightly, it adds a fair amount of lightning damage and increases AR slightly. However, this skill requires more mana to use than the Flaming Bolt skill, an amount that also increase to a greater degree over time. Extra levels, however, further improve the damage dealt and increase the AR bonus.
Rake:
Required Level: 20
Required Skills: Claw Mastery
Description: In order to use this skill the Pit Fighter must have two Claw-type weapons equipped. Use of this skill allows her to swing both of her Claws in one attack, damaging two seperate targets in one strike. This is similar to the manner in which the Barbarian's Double Swing skill functions. This skill provides a slight damage and AR bonus. Usage costs a small amount of mana, an amount that does not increase greatly with addition of extra levels. Extra levels improve the damage and AR bonuses slightly, as well as improving the user's attack speed to a small extent.
Dodge:
Required Level: 20

Description: Pit Fighting, as was mentioned in the blurb for the Leap skill, is a vicous art of fluid motion and violent combat. Experienced Pit Fighters learn to anticipate the approach of their foes' weapons. This skill gives the character a passive chance to avoid melee attacks while fighting or standing standing still. Extra points increase the chance of avoidiing attacks.
Freezing Bolt:
Required Level: 20
Required Skills: Crossbow Mastery
Description: By enchanting her crossbow bolts with a simple magic the character is able to add a chilling effect to her crossbow attacks. These bolts deal a small amount of cold damage and chill those they strike for a short period of time. The frozen heads of these bolts are incredibly sharp and deal a slightly greater amount of of physical damage than normal bolts. Usage of this skill does not require a great deal of mana, although at higher levels the amounts required are great. Extra levels improve the damage dealt, both phsyical and cold, and increase the chill duration of these bolts.
Diving Strike:
Required Level: 24
Required Skills: Leap
Description: Having mastered the art of leaping in order to escape her foes, the Pit Fighter is now able to execute an even more astounding acrobatic maneuver. She is able to perform a powerful leaping attack that enables her to both escape nearby enemies and strike at those in the region shes is jumping towards. This skill enhances the amount of damage dealt, as the momentum of her strike enhances the effect of her weapon. This kind of bizarre maneuver is also very difficult for foes to anticipate and avoid, and thus the skill provides an AR bonus. Usage of this skill does not require a great deal of mana, and this skill remains cheap even at higher levels. Extra points further increase the jump distance, as well as the damage and AR bonuses.
Taunt:

Description: The skilled fighter knows how to use her foes' weaknesses against himself. Taunts and jibes may seem like a foolish tactic, as angering a powerful enemy can have dangerous results. However, a taunted foe is more likely to fight baddly than well. This skill causes the Taunted foe to race towards the character, attempting to engage her in melee. So great is the foe's bloodlust that he, she or it pays little heed to defensive actions. Even the foes attacks are less carefully planned. For a moderate mana cost this skill lures an enemy into close-combat and recudes its AR and Defence in the process. The mana cost of this skill increase a moderate amount with each point, but extra points also improve the AR and Defence penalties applied to the target.
Explosive Bolt:

Required Skills: Flaming Bolt
Description: Unlike the Flaming Bolt skill, Explosive Bolt is magical in nature. By placing a relatively powerful spell on her crossbow bolts the Pit Fighter is able to make them explode on impact. Bolts altered using this skill will deal a fair amount of explosive fire damage in addition to the usual physical damage they cause. Creation of Explosive Bolts costs a moderate amount of mana, an amount that does increase noticeably with the addition of points. However, extra points further improve the amount of explosive fire damage dealt.
Sweeping Strike:
Required Level: 32
Required Skills: Rake
Description: An improvement on the Rake skill, Sweeping Strike allows the Pit Fighter to strike out at all nearby foes as long as she has at least one Claw-type weapon equipped. Due to the great speed of Claw-weapons this is a very fast process, but in crowded confines it can nevertheless take a while to strike every available target. Due to the nature of the attacks launched with this skill, there is a slight reduction in both AR and Damage. Use of this skill requires only a moderate amount of mana, an amount which does not increase a great deal with the addition of extra levels. At high skill levels the attack speed of this skill is improved somewhat, while the AR and Damage penalities almost disappear.
Tumble:
Required Level: 32
Required Skills: Dodge
Description: Tumble is a passive skill that improves upon the Dodge skill. Points placed in this skill give the character a fair chance to avoid melee or ranged attacks while moving. The initial chance is fair and increases moderetely with each level, although there is a fall-off in terms of improvement at higher levels.
Magnetic Bolt:
Required Level: 36
Required Skills: Shocking Bolt
Description: Through the knowledge gained in the creation of Shocking Bolts the Pit Fighter is able to craft a bizarre variation known as Magnetic Bolts. These Bolts, although in no way imbued with any kind of electrical damage, have the ability to unerringly seek out their target. The magics that enable this cost very little to make use, and the cost of enchanting bolts in this way does not increase greatly with the addition of points. Extra points further enhance the Magnetic Bolts by increasing their movement speed and giving them a slight chance to Deadly Strike, a function of their seeking capabilities.
Spray:

Required Skills: Overload
Descritpion: The Pit Fighter is able to master the art of rapidly unleashing a hail of Bolts at the majority of foes within her range. When using this skill she is able to quickly launch massive numbers of bolts at most foes within her range. Use of this skill reduces her AR slightly, but has no other major penalties. Using this skill uses a moderate amount of mana, an amount that increases noticeably with the addition of extra skill levels. Extra levels, however, greatly increase the number of targets she can attack while using this skill, often enabling her to clear entire screens in a few quick uses.
Blinding Strike:
Required Level: 44
Required Skills: Slice and Dice
Description: This skill is similar to the Barbarian skill Frenzy. Use of it empowerrs the character's weapons, increasing their Damage and AR. However, this comes at the cost of a slight penalty to Defence. Additionally, the skill increases it's user's Attack Speed for each successive hit that lands. The mana cost of this skill is moderate, increases noticeably with further levels. However, the bonuses to AR, Damage and Attack Speed also improve, although the Defence penalty only decreases slightly.
Critical Strike:
Required Level: 44
Required Skills: None
Description: With sufficient training the Pit Fighter is able to determine the vulnerable spots on any foe with a mere glance. By aiming for these spots, whether using Claws, Crossbows or some other weapon, she is able to deal a great deal more damage. This skill gives the Pit Fighter a passive chance to Critical Strike, causing double damage when she does so.
Frozen Bolt:
Required Level: 44
Required Skills: Freezing Bolt
Description: With this spell the Pit Fighter is able to lay a power enchantment on her Crossbow bolts. This enchantment causes the bolts to explode in a cloud of freezing vaour and icy shards upon impact. This has the effect of dealing a good amount of cold damage to those within the region of the cold explosion and freezes them for a short period of time. The mana cost of using ths skill is moderately high, although it does not increase a great deal with the addition of points. Extra points further improve the cold damage and freeze duration
