The Huntress
Character Information
The Huntress is another character that hails from the jungles of Kurast. Unlike the Flayer Lord, the Huntress is by no means an innately evil character. However, her prime motivation is the thrill of the Hunt and she will forgoe all other goals in order to satisfy her urge to Hunt and Kill. Thus, the Huntress's sole motivation for taking part in the quest to slay the Prime Evils is to sate her desire for blood and glory. The Huntress specialises in ranged attacks and poison attacks. All of her skills are keyed towards the utilisation of throwing weapons, primarily in the form of javelins, and the addition of poison to these weapons. On a final note, the Huntress is also a skilled user of traps and is capable of setting a variety of deadly traps that can ensare her foes and dispatch them in all the manner of painful ways.

Quick Throw

Description: One of the most basic skills that a Huntress can master is that of rapidly throwing fast-moving javelins at her foes. This simple skill utilises very little mana, even at higher levels. For the most part all this skill does is increase throwing speed while using javelins and increase the actually movement speed of the javelins thrown. However, at high levels the skill also provides a minor passive bonus that gives a chance for thrown javelins to pierce those they strike.
Increased Speed

Description: This passive skill is usually mastered most quickly by those adherents to the old adage "Run away and live to fight another day...". Points placed in this skill increase the base movements speed of the character by a percentile amount. At higher levels this skill makes the use of the run function mostly pointless.
Mark for Death

Description: This simple piece of hunting magic is similar to the Amazon skill Inner Sight. It reduces the defence of the affected enemies, as well as slowing them down to a minor extent. The general effect is to make it far easier for the Huntress to strike those whome are Marked for Death. The mana cost of this skill is low, although it does increase a moderate amount withg each level. The addition of extra levels also greatly improves the amount by which opponents' defence ratings are lowered, as well as slightly increasing the degree to which they are slowed.
Venom Javelin

Description: This simple skill allows the Huntress to poision the tip of her Javelins with a fairly powerful venom. This causes those struck by the javelin to suffer poison damage over a moderate amount of time, as well as physical damage. Use of this skill does not require a great deal of mana and mana usage only increases to a small extent with the addition of points. Further levels enhance the poison damage dealt, while reducing the poinson duration to a very minor extent.
Power Throw

Required Skills: Quick Throw
Description: This attack launches a single javelin with a great deal of force. The throwing speed of this attack is much slower than that of a normal attack, but the thrown javelin moves at a slightly higher speed and deals a great deal more damage upon striking a target. This skill requires a moderate amount of mana to use, an amount that increase further with the addition of points. However, extra points also increase the amount of extra damage dealt, the missile velocity and provide a small passive chance for the javelins to pierce their target. A very minor increase to attack speed is also gained with the addition of points.
Sneak

Description: This skill is similar to the Assassin skill Cloak of Shadows. It hides the Huntress in a shroud of darkness and greatly reduces the vision of her foes. Using this skill she is able to stealithly avoid powerful foes. It also proves useful when attempting to lay traps around a particularly dangerous foes. This skill requires very little mana to use and this amount does not increase very much at all with the addition of points. Extra points enhance the duration of the effect, as well as the degree to which foes are blinded.
Poison Javelin

Required Skills: Venom Javelin
Description: With this skill the Huntress is able to throw a javelin that releases clouds of noxious vapour as it travels across the screen. This vapour is very poisonous and affects all foes who walk through the clouds. This skill also adds poison damage to the head of the javelin. The poison length on this skill is fairly average. This skill makes use of a fairly small amount of mana, although this amount does increase a fair amount with extra levels. Extra points increase the amount of poison damage dealt, as well as decreasing the poinson length to a small extent.
Stunning Strike

Description: This skill allows for the throwing of powerfully enhanced javelins that deal extra damage to those they strike, as well as stunning them for a small amount of time. Those struck are also knocked back a short distance, make this skill idea for keeping powerful foes at bay. This skill requires a moderate amount of mana to use and this amount increases with the addition of points. Further addition of points also increases the damage dealt as well as enhancing the stun duration to a small extent.
Poison Bomb

Description: With this skill the construction and use of dangerous bombs is possible. These grenade-like devices are lobbed at the enemy, exploding in a cloud of poisonous gas upon impact. This cloud of vapour persists for a fair amount of time befoe finally dissipating. The poison damage dealt is great, but over a fair amount of time. The grenades also deal a small amount of fire damage upon exploding. This skill does not require a great deak of mana to use, although the mana cost does ramp up noticeably. However, as the mana cost increases so to does the effectiveness of the poison, as well as the amount of explosive damage dealt.
Plague Javelin

Description: This skill enables the player to throw a javelin that explodes in a cloud of noxious vapour that rapidly damages foes. The amount of poison damage dealt is not astounding, but it is dealt rapidly. Use of this skill requires a fair amount of mana, although this amount does not increase too much. Extra levels enhanced the amount of poison damage dealt, although the poison duration remains fixed.
Snare %

Description: This skill allows for the setting of a mechnical trap. This trap launches a blade that travels between two points in a straight line. Anything struck by the blade is damaged and their is a chance that wounds will be opened on the victim. This skill does not require a great deal of mana to use, but mana costs rapidly scale up. Extra points improve the duration of the trap, as well as increasing the damage and chance to open wounds greatly.
Guided Javelin

Description: With this skill the Huntress is able to imbue a thrown javelin with powerful hunting magics. These magics cause the javelin to independantly seek a target once it has been thrown. The javelin will tend to target the nearest enemy, but on occasion seem to have a mind of their own. These javelins can also turn corners in order to seek their victim. Additionally, this skill adds a small amount of magical damage to the imbued javelin. Usage of this skill consumes a noticeable amount of mana, although extra points do not increase the mana usage much. More points increase the speed of the thrown javelin slightly, as well as improving the amount of magical damage dealt.
Increased Stamina

Description: Only those who have gained sufficient skill in the art of running long and hard to escape the clutches of some diabolical foe can master this useful passive skill. Each point placed in this skill provides a percentile bonus to stamina that allows for increased bouts of intensive running.
Poison Dart Trap

Description: This skill enables for the setting of static traps that fire small darts at enemies who draw too near. These darts are coated with a powerful venom that damages and disorientates those they strike. The darts themselves deal very little damage. The setting of a poison dart trap requires a fair amount of mana and extra skill levels further increase these requirements. However, the amount of damage dealt increases greatly while the venom duration is reduced accordingly with the addition of extra points.
Disease Javelin

Description: This powerful skill allows the Huntress to imbue thrown javelins with powerful spells of disease and piercing. Javelins thrown using this skill have a 100% chance to pierce targets and trail clouds of poisonous gas behind them as they travel. Additionally, these heads of such javelins are coated in a dangerous venom. The amount of poison damage dealt by this skill is moderate, as is the poison length. The mana cost of this skill is moderate, although extra levels do increase it. However, these extra levels also improve the poison damage and slightly reduce the poison length.
Sonic Strike

Required Skills: Stunning Strike
Description: This powerful skill enables javelins to be thrown at supersonic speeds. Javelins thrown using this skill move so fast as to be almost invisible and have a 100% chance to pierce anything they strike. Additionally, a sonic wake travels behind the speeding javelin at a slightly slower pace. This sonic wake also has a 100% chance to pierce targets. Anything struck by the wake will recieve minor damage and be stunned for a period of time. This skill's mana usage is quite high, but the amount of damage dealt by the supersonic javelin is proportionally great. Extra levels increase this mana cost even more, but with the further addition of damage to both the javelin and the sonic wake, as well as improving the stun length of the wake.
Plaguespore Trap

Required Skills: Poision Dart Trap
Description: This skill allows the Huntress to lay down a small trap that activates when an enemy draws near. Upon activation the trap will spew forth powerful streams of toxic vapour and acidic mist. While this trap has only a relatively short range, the poisobn damage dealt is great and the duration of the poison short. However, this trap costs a fair amount of mana to set and has a fairly limited supply of gas and acid to throw forth. Extra points further improve the damage dealt at a relatvely minor increaase to mana cost.
Dark Strike

Required Skills: Mark for Death
Description: By placing a twisted enchantment upon her javelins the Huntress is able to imbue them with powerful life and mana stealing capabilities. All javelins launched with this skill leech large amounts of mana and life from those they strike. They mana cost of this skill is relatively high, but the amounts of life and mana stolen more than make up for it. Extra points increase the mana usage and life/mana steal amounts greatly.

Description: The Huntress loves to keep mementos of her favourite hunts about her person. These keepsakes could be anything from an interesting horn or talon to a rare magical item the victim was carrying at the time of death. Over time the Huntress has become adept at finding particularly interesting and useful trophies. Using this skill she is able to search a fallen foes body for a keepsake or trohpy of some kind. Furthermore, this skind provides a small passive bonus to her chance to find a valuable magic item on those she slays. This skill does not require a great deal of mana to use, although this amount increases greatly with the addition of further points. However, extra points greatly enhance her chance to find magic items, as well as increasing her general purpose looting capabilities.
Pierce

Required Skills: Power Throw
Description: A passive skill mastered only by those who have spent a great deal of time making sharp, pointy things go through obstructing things of varying degrees of thickness. This passive skill provides a significant chance for any javelins thrown to pierce their intended targets and continue moving. The initial chance for a javelin to pierce starts fairly high and increases at a rate that falls of at higher levels. However, maxing out this skill does bestow a 100% chance to pierce on all thrown javelins.
Sidestep
Required Level: 44
Required Skills: Increased Speed
Description: Another passive skill mastered only by the most agile of individuals, Sidestep provides the character with a chance to avoid enemy ranged attacks when standing still or when moving. The initial chance to avoid ranged attacks provided by this skill is quite healthy, although the degree to which it decreases falls off at higher levels. It is, however, impossible to achieve a 100% chance to dodge ranged attacks, although a very useful 95% chance is attainable...
Wyrd Javelin
Required Level: 48
Required Skills: Guided Javelin and Disease Javelin
Description: This powerful skill enables the Huntress to imbue her thrown javelins with a powerful magical wyrd. This bizarre enchantment represents a fusion of the Disease Javelin and Guided Javelin skills. Javelins thrown while using this skill will release glouds of noxious gas in their wake and will also explode into gaseous clouds upon impact with a target. However, this skill also causes thrown javelins to pierce targets 50% of the time(A fixed Chance to Pierce that never gets higher, not even with the aid of the Pierce skill) and are able to independantly seek out targets. The mana cost of using this skill, however, is quite high, although it dos not increase too much with the addition of further points. Extra levels further increase the amount of poison damage dealt by this skill. It is also worth noting that the thrown javelins have poison damage added to their heads by this skill.
Javelin Mastery
Required Level: 52
Required Skills: Sonic Strike
Descripton: This passive skill provides an AR bonus and a damage bonus while using Javelin-class weapons. The skill also provides a minor attack speed bonus and a Chance to Critical Strike. Extra points further increase all of the bonuses provided, to varying extents.
Poison Mastery
Required Level: 52
Required Skills: Disease Javelin
Description: Another powerful passive skill, Poison Mastery greatly increasers the amount of poison damage dealt by all skills that do so. This skill also works to reduce the Poison Resist level of targets struck by poison attacks and as a final bonus decreases the poison duration of most skills by a small amount. Extra points further increase these bonuses.
Trap Mastery
Required Level: 52
Required Skills: Plaguespore Trap
Description: The final of the Huntress' trio of passive mastery skills, this one affects the various traps that the Huntress is able to set. This skill increases the duration and the ammunition of all traps, as well as increasing the base amount of damage they deal. This skill also reduces the casting delay and mana cost of all traps to a small extent. Extra levels further improve these features.
Venomous Influence
Required Level: 60
Required Skills: Poison Mastery
Description: This powerful skill works in the form of an Aura effect. While active Venomous Influence periodically deals poison damage to all foes within a certain distance of the Huntress. Furthermore, this skill debilitates them, making them slower, weaker and less able to perceive their surroundings. However, use of this Aura does come at a certain mana cost. Extra points further increase the amount of poison damage dealt, as well as the effectiveness of the skill's debilitating effects. These improvements come at the cost of increase mana usage, however.
Decoy
Required Level: 60
Required Skills: Trap Mastery
Descrption: Using this skill is the Huntress is able to fashion a perfect duplicate of herself. This duplicate does not move or attack, but does present an inviting target for foes. The duplicate's life total is far lower than that of the Huntress, so it is only useful as a momentary diversion. Duplicates are more difficlt to hit than one would expect, however. As a result, they benefit from a good chance to avoid any form of attack. The cost of creating a duplicate is not too high, and does not really grow to any major extent with the addition of extra points. However, further input of points increases the duration of this skill and eventually allows for the summing of mutliple duplicates. Also, the life total of the duplicate is improved with the addition of points, as is its chance to avoid attacks.
Deathstrike Javelin

Required Skills: Javelin Mastery and Poison Mastery
Description: The most power attack skill available to the Huntress and also the most expensive in terms of mana cost. With this skill she is able to lunch of javelin tipped with an incredibly vile poison of unknown origin. This foul substance acts over a fairly long period of time, 10 seconds at the most, but deals so great and amount of damage that only the strongest of foes can hope to survive its effects. Those who do so, however, will find themselves blinded for a great deal of time, as well as incredibly weakened and slowed. Extra points further increase the ridicolous amount of damage this skill deals, although at the addition of an even higher mana cost.
The Hunt

Description: This powerful skill represents the Huntress' ultimate spiritual connection with act of Hunting. So powerful is is connection to the act of Hunting that she garners the attention of some of the jungle's darkest denizens. These shadowy creatures are known in myth alone and are rumored to be the formed from the very essence of fear itself. The Huntress's devotion to the Hunt has gained her the aid of these creatures. They will, for an incredible cost, join her side for a short period of time and participate in her current Hunt. The creatures of the Hunt are incredible strong and fast, and are capable of running down most foes within a few seconds. What happens to those they catch, however, is best left untold, save to say that the fate is most gruesome and painful. Extra levels in this skill increase the mana usage of this skill in order to allow for the summoning of mutliple creatues of The Hunt. As the character's levels in this skill grow, the denizens summoned grow ever more fearsome and terrifying...
Arcane Trap
Required Level: 68
Required Skills: Trap Mastery
Description: This powerful skill enables the Huntress to set a trap of most arcane nature. This magical device is somewhat similar to the Death Sentry of the Assassin character. When a foe draws within range this trap releases numerous bolts of poisonous gas that deal a great deal of poison damage to those they strike. This trap is also able to magically cause the corpses of fallen foes to explode. Exploding corpses deal an amount of damage proportional to their original life total and release clouds of poison gas. This trap is outfitted with a great deal of ammunition, although it does require a fair amount of mana to set. Extra levels further increase this mana usage, but provide a boost in the amount of poison and corpse explosion damage dealt, as well as providing the trap with even more ammunition.
