AndTheBeatGoesOn

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. right, so, on thursday i had the day off, and had the joy of spending it registering at varsity (so i can graduate this year) and finding someone human at the bank.

I finally got a manager, thank god, and suddenly they could find my package. It had been there for nearly a month. He was very helpful, looked suitably embarrassed, and sorted everything out in a jiffy (well, an hour, but that's fast for banks). I was ready to believe in the system once more.

Then, the next day, i went to draw money from my new account. I was told i'd be able to draw by then. I wasn't.

Back i went to the bank. Found my pet manager again, who was even more embarrased this time. And then he did something which i don't understand why they don't just do in the first place: he cleared the funds immediately. Just like that.

So the saga is over? you ask. Not nearly. Still had to disable my one internet banking account and enable my new one. Took 2 hours. I'm not kidding. What a joke.

Then, yesterday, i get a message on my phone from standard bank rondebosch. My package has arrived. I can come and pick it up.

No shit.

So they have it for a month and don't tell me, and then 4 days after i've picked it up, they call to say they have it.

Wow.

Anyway, in other news, the SABC is trying to tell me that i applied for a licence (when i didn't) and despite apparently 'applying' for it this year, i owe them for last year. That's a total of R450 that they're trying to screw me out of. Now, in order not to have to pay them this ridiculous sum, i have to prove that the television in our home was bought with my sister's licence. arg!!!

On a lighter note, my mother's 50th on saturday went very well. I catered 9 courses of Thai food for 25 people. I'm still in shock. But it was very very yummy. Spring rolls, chicken satay with peanut sauce, prawn and crab thai cakes with sweet chilli sauce, stuffed calamari tubes, chicken green curry, prawn red curry, beef in ginger with bamboo shoots, stir fried veggies, fried noodles, jasmine rice and, for dessert, lemon sorbet with ginger syrup, lychees and star fruit. Mmmmmm.

Character creation for Alex's new SLA Industries game tonight. Kewl.
