VerminYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Moths have never been a critters that I class as vermin. They're usually kinda cute in my world - fluffy wings and fluffy antenna, flittering about, burning in candles, braining themselves on light bulbs - cute. I find people who think moths are scary kind of odd. Cockroaches, worms, praying mantises, spiders (of course!) and even caterpilla's I can grok how they they might unsettle someone, but moths? Over the last few weeks however I've been getting steadily more and more irked by moths. Apparently they're breeding in, and eating, our carpets so we've has a bit of a population explosion of them in the house. They're everywhere and in numbers. Now, the sad truth is that a fair proportion of my spare cash has gone on my wardrobe over the last few months - nice cloths to make me happy! (Some people shop, some people eat - I do both, although aiming for moderation... which is easier with two vices...) I also tend to be a horder and like to keep my cloths for years (and years, and year - hell some of my stuff is older than me and I half hope to have some of my youthful follies to pass onto my spawn if I ever have any) so the idea of these moths getting into my cupboard and supping on my wonderful cloths is traumatising. Last night I came home and finally snapped. In the past the only insect I'll kill indesciminately are mosquito's, but I'll kill ants if they invade my 'territory'. Now I have added moths to the list. I killed about ten of them last night in my room alone, and I could spot more in places I couldn't reach. Maddening. I think I'm going to need to buy some insecticide or maybe moth balls for my cupboard - but I know from past experience breathing in that stuff gives me chronic headaches. Ah, guess it's the hand of doom then. BTW incase I was letting anyone forget this: Gods, I hate my job. Comment: Fruityflys...
