You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Gosh, I'm tired.

Yesterday was a bit of a funny day, since once again I'm running out of 'real' work and have had to resort to random menial tasks like filing. In between doing that I landed up googling the other South African who does Jitsu in London - signifigant because he's going home in a month or so and will be setting up a club in Joburg or Pretoria which if I can get to with any convenience I will join when I get back, and all the info I had on him was a name and an email adress. Found him.

Then landed up nearly cracking on the phone since it turns out that whoever I called in the Oyster call centre on Thursday was a complete fly-by-night jerk and didn't record anything I said to him, or if he did he put it somewhere weird, so there's a chance that I won't get any of the costs of my transport between Thursday and yesterday back (which is a fair bit of dosh). :-(

Then I decided to ego surf for myself, since apparently there are at least two 'Robyn Saul's in London, although the other is 'Robin'. I've discovered there are some very prolific 'Robin Saul's, but only a handful of 'Robyn Saul's - some of whom are dead. Fortunately the less than entirely accurate account by Ada on how I cut my own hair has disappeared. I hate to think how many bad haircuts have resulted from that literature in the hands of stupid Americans. I also ego surfed my own nick. Once upon a time I was pretty much the only 'Lothriel' on the net, with one or two avid Tolkien sites also coming up on the hit list, a few years ago there were two of us really active - the other being a LotR? mudder in South America (male with a female character...). Since the LotR? movie came out however, there are hundreds of 'Lothriel' hits on the net. It's kind of a shame really. Hence why I tend to shorten it down to just "Loths" these days, that and I've never been much of a Tolkien fan. Also managed to stumble onto some awful teenage literature of mine. Awful. Gob-smackingly awful. Can't believe that anyone has seen fit to archive that. Arg.

To add to the teenage nostalgic fest, there was of course the NIN concert last night. Yes, I did bring heels. Smartest thing I've done yet, since it meant I could see things, and when people trod on my feet I just though "ouch, my toes!" rather than "NOOO! Those are my new (mostly white) shoes!!!!" Also I got a perfectly timed warning from Grant who'd been the night before to 'dress light since it would get warm', which resolved the pitched battle I was fighting with my wardrobe at that moment.

The concert was fantastic! As a strange selection the support act was a rapper called Saul Williams, who was good, although more along the pure rap lines than the hip-hop which meant great skill on his part, but not quite the feet moving power most people expect, and enjoy, these days from urban music. The reaction was mixed, but mostly positive none-the-less.

NIN fans fortunately seem to be shorter than Rammstien fans so I had a relatively decent veiw of dear old Trent for most of the time. He played a number of tracks from the new album, but he seems aware that as a whole they are weaker than his old stuff, so he put more of them at the start. He's also a consumate performer, and knows what 'attitude' the crowd expect from him on any given song, from mopey despair in Something I can never have to energetic rage in Starfuckers, inc. I was happy since he got through pretty much every song I could of written on a list of must see's especially Repile and Hurt - which was amazing for it's audience participation, including a girl on the balcony screaming a "I love you Trent!" into the hushed chanting audience. In fact the only track I 'missed' was Heresy, but considering that by the time it was over the 'audience' was too tired to muster the call for an encore, I can't fault the band for a minute. The body of work that Trent has is far too much to fit into a paltry hour and a half of stage time.

It was well worth every penny spent and I guess I can now cross one more thing of my list of 'must do before...' Strangly the only band I've seen here that wasn't quite worth the dosh was Blink - and they were salvaged in my eyes by the appearance of Robert Smith, so I don't regret that a moment either!

Anyway, back to work for now, and home to an early rest tonight. My duvet calls me with it's siren song, but I must resist a while yet.

...Oh, and about the wiki - I have no idea? I've never considered myself to be an authority on anything other than perhaps procrastination and maybe a bit of baking, so I don't tend to wiki and blogging I do plenty of already... I just usually reckon there's usually a tale to tell in everything, provided you tell it right. Even in WombatBoy?'s breakfast.

Maybe we should write a collective CLAWs module on the Wiki? Or a LARP... could be kinda fun.

OoooH?! And also forgot to mention that as well as purchasing shoes on Saturday I also walked out of the Tooting Oxfam with a copy of Call of Cthulhu: Dark Ages for all of £1.69! Happiness!

You do realise that you have to post the url to your "awful teenage literature" so that we can all share in your shame :-p. I could just go through all 895 results returned for "lothriel", but life is short and I'm all about the instant gratification.

Umm... I believe that that was the point of NOT posting the URL. If you want to witness my shame, you'll have to work for it dammit!

(That or attend ICON 2006, since I reckon I'll be there and I reckon I shame myself every time pretty much. Even I have nightmares over too much leopard print... Too much... aarg.)

Bad news...I think I found them. (After all of one search...on the first page)

Good news...I couldn't read it. That bad.

Though who am I to talk.

Yep, it was a struggle for me too - and I at least have some idea of what I was going on about. (Which, I think, it what makes it worse.)
