MovingSwiftlyOnYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Well, I've now been in this job for three months, since yesterday. I seem to be a bit fixated on 'anniversaries' of late, but I think it because the speed with which time passes these days is horrifying. Some days it's horryingly slow, and some days it's horrifyingly quickly. ;-) The significance of three months though is that I technically go permanent. My notice period goes up to 1 month and in theory I can demand a raise. I'm going to have to in fact, since our accountant has infomed me that having your NI number is not synonymous (sp?) with having the right tax code, which means I'll still be paying emergency tax this month!!! Not a good affair since I've consistently been spending more money that I'm paid for the last two months (moving and christmas have not been kind). Once I get a tax code, I'll be fine. Better than fine, since I should get a hefty rebate (although I'm counting that as my savings...) Dammit, money is such a pain. Richard and I are starting to get a bit more focussed with our 'venture', we've finally agreed on a name, and I've sketched a few designs for the logo, but the problem is that I don't have access to half the software I need to create it. I may just have to give up and do it on someone's PC - at least I have the appropriate software for that (all pirated though - sshh!) Also Claire is, in a move of overwhelming generosity, giving me her old digital camera, since she has a new nicer Nikon to keep her entertained. This is extremely good, since the photo's my digi-cam takes are shockingly awful (to the point that I hate using it since I'm almost always disappointed and frustrated by the results). Sorry Dad, but it's a piece of crap. I think I'll give it to Kait since she's such a snap-happy lass. She can use it or throw it into the Thames for all I care. Oh, and I just want everyone to know that I love my granny! |
