IsItBecauseIIsBlonde

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. (The above refering to the fact that the other week I was described as 'vivacious' for the first time in my life, and that being my reply. Apparently, yes, it is because 'I is blonde' and we concluded that brunettes are almost by definition never 'vivacious' - even when they are.)

Hayfever season seems to have started in the UK. It's arrival is heralded by random outbursts of sneezing from myself and some of my co-workers, and the girls at jitsu mumbling about antihistamines.

I, with my current health / holistic bend, have started taking grape seed extract which is lauded with more beneficial properties than you can shake a stick at; anti-cancer, anti-aging, free radical butt-kicking all round, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine. It's also supposed to do good things for your digestive health or something, which is why I bought it in the first place, although I've noticed no especial improvements either way - maybe it's an 'over the long term' thing.

However, this morning I've discovered the fresh and unpleasent sensation that is having sinus irritation combined with a rather painful subcutaneous bruise just above my left eye. For all of you that may never get to expereince this one, trust me, you're a lot better off for it.

The bruise, which is fortunately too deep at the moment to show much unless you're really really looking for it, was delivered by a rather enthusiatic blue-belt who actually expected me to be able to dodge. Although after being decked in the eyebrow, yes, I proceeded to dodge a hell of a lot faster. Pam and I have a token bet on as to whether it'll develop into visible shiner by Friday. I'd like to think that I know how bruises develop on me since I've had so many in my life, although admittedly not so many in the facial region... Guess I'm going to have to get very cunning with the cosmetics on Thursday. He he he.

BTW, regarding the whole 'early life crisis': Nope, marketing holds very little interest for me, and in fact, I've spent a lot of time trying to rack my brain for other choices that might have some appeal, but becoming Winery Assitant Bob is so far still top of the list. Also, if I do go through with this I will be enrolling for 2007 and not 2006, since I'll need to do a lot of research to find out if this really is what I want to do, and deadline for enrollment into Stellies is September, which doesn' give me enough time. I will, in all likelyhood, give Graphic Design at least one more go - and will hopefully be working as one up until the minute I have to quit to go study. Finally, at the rate I'm changing my mind of late, who knows - next month I may have decided that I'm going to go to Alaska for a year to pack fish!

If you do go to pack, and make it back with all your fingers and toes, then you won't have to worry about a student loan.

And higher belted martial artiists always seem to think that its lots of fun to beat up n00bs. Try to 'acciently' hit him where it hurts, they generaly don't cause too much trouble after that. This worked for me.

so if you lose them, then you still have to worry about the loan? :-D

...that Karate is full of over-testosteroned people like Alex Karpal?

Wait, that could be taken as meaning Loth is OT'ed. Woops. That is NOT intentional. And is NOT intended.

Closes mouth.

Yeah. So that by the time you may realise it does nothing, it's far far too late to claim your money back. (Note: I have no particular opinion or information on grape seed extract, hence the 'may'. I just find it very convenient indeed that yonder snake oil only works by the time the salesman is long gone)

I found grapeseed oil took about 6months before I noticed the benefits... after all with "life" there is a lot to undo before it can even begin to fix stuff.
