You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. BBC weather keeps promising it. Other people keep seeing it. I keep missing it somehow.

Kait just rang me from Old Street twenty minutes ago, it was snowing by her, but not by me. On Saturday Richard was coming to visit me and it was snowing just down the road at Clapham Common, but by the time I'd popped the lasagne in the oven, got my coat on and raced to the common, it was all gone. I just really, really want to see snow. Even just a little bit. :-(

Maybe by the end of this week...

However, it is sooo cold at the moment. Average day time temp of 4 degrees, not much lower at night, but it drops to round freezing point or colder. Unfortunately my room isn't very warm, the one radiator isn't big enough for the volume of space and it doesn't help that the single-glazed window is one of those draughty old sash-types. I've stuffed the main gap between the top pane and the bottom with my old Tramshed work-shirts. It's the best use I've ever got out of them.

I'm really looking forward to my holiday in CT and JHB, but it's going to be quite a shocker temperature wise, going from this cold to the South African heat. From all I hear it was a whopper of a summer and I'm undecided as to whether I'm glad to have missed it or sad?

Heh, the irony of the week is that I managed to lose one of my black woollen gloves on Saturday. This would happen just as the weather finally turns cold, but just after all the shops have sold off all their winter stock. I bought a horrid pair at ASDA for a pound, but in the most awful shade of not-quite crimson. I had to cut bows off them, and they don't really make any difference, my hands are just as cold. I'm going to head down to Camden soon and scour the place for something more suitable.
