HappyNow

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. I spent about an hour and a half in a bank today. Well, that's not entirely true 'cause they did say it was going to b e a long wait so I went and wandered around Blue Route for a while and found FANTASTIC shoes! Unfortunately they only had them in size 8. This was hugely problematic as I am, at most, a size 4, usually size 3.

I don't have VERY long to sit and chat (ramble) 'cause I've got to go to stats at 2. That's going to be very boring since I'm one of two people in the class that has done stats before - which means that they now go very very slowly through all the things and make us to ridiculously easy stuff that I CAN'T do 'cause they ask for conclusions and I can't give any 'cause I'm sitting there going "But what's the question? What do I want to know? How can I possibly draw conclusions if I don't know what I'm asking????" Morons! Oh well, hopefully it'll get better from here on out since we had to read the chapter on "asking questions" for today!

In other news, I don't understand Statistica. I can see where it has it's advantages and disadvantages, but I prefer Excel. This is, of course, because I know how to use Excel and have been doing so for a while now! Besides which, Excel lets you use words and it's prettier :-D

In other news, no one has come to visit me up here. While I understand that very few of you are back at Varsity and those who are are very busy and I'm busy and not here permanently, it would still be nice. Then I could show you my pretty pictures :-D
I have a nice map of Africa and I have a world map. It has a normal world map and a map of population density (or some other boring statistic) and one of language families (yay!!) and than, on the back (or, rather, the front since that's the side that I have showing) is a map of the world at night. It's a yearlong composite and it shows lights, fires, deep sea fishing and natural gas emissions. It's so cool!!

The other thing that I hate about Statistica? That's the way that when you do a histogram (or a pie chart, etc.) it puts things like 30 into the category below the one that starts at 30. That's why I like Excel, you get to CHOOSE your categories!

In other news, I really like coke. I do. It's one of my favourite things. So is the chocolate that's in my drawer, just about a metre away ... mmmmmmm...
I don't, however, like driving! I hate it, despise it and many other synonyms that I'm not going to bore you with! It is, however, a necessary evil. Especially now that I have a car. It's red. That's not my favourite colour. As most of you know, it's GREEN! (my favourite colour, not the car. The car is red.) There is one aspect I like. It's the being able to go to Sean's. Yay! I enjoy that. I even like him coming to see me now that his parentals will let him drive their car. Although, I do worry 'cause he likes to go via Main Road and I HATE Main Road.

In other news, it's nearly two, so I must go and find my stats stuff...

And will someone please explain to me why I have to use stupid round brackets (these ones) instead of the pretty square ones??

The square brackets are reserved for special wiki functionality.

I would come and visit you but I live in the Northern Cape. ;-)

the square bracket problem is interesting, there should be an escape sequence so you CAN use sq b without generating an HTML link, but I can't figure it out right now...] [it works if you don't close square brackets but that annoys anyone with a sense of grammar

I will be visiting campus in general on the 15th - assuming you deign to stop at the gazebo I'll see you there :-D

...chopped liver? Were you just never around when I offered that anyone who needed helped with Stats just needs to ask? If we both have the time (and right now we do) I'm more than willing to sit and explain stuff :-)

As far as I'm concerned you're "in Joburg". It's not the Stats I'm having a problem with, it's Statistica. Which you are FAR more than welcome to explain to me. Preferably, however, here, in front of a computer. Does this mean that you're in Cape Town and available for this?
