AusgrabenImDeutschlandYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. ...cue German national anthem... So, it is official and settled and all that! I will be spending 6 weeks over there doing ... (see title - and if you can't read German, it's not my problem ) and it's all settled! Yay! No LARPs while I'm gone, though! Or, more particularly, no IoFW? while I'm gone, although Shaun assures me that the chances of that happening are small as there's supposed to be a big gap between the one right before I leave and the next one. He says it's not supposed to be as long as between the 1st and 2nd ones, but you can't trust these people! Look what happened then! They assured us that it would be in the last quarter of 2004 and was it? No! No it wasn't! Speaking of which, I was meaning to speak to Michael, but I keep forgetting. He should run a 6 week mini-campaign while I'm gone, to occupy my Wombat. Of course, I strongly suspect he won't because it's no fun running roleplaying campaigns while I'm not here to suffer the consequences of them. Not that I'm bitter or anything, but he needs to learn to stick to his day! Anyway, back to the whole Germany thing! It's very exciting! And the best part is - I didn't have to pay for my visa! Apparently if you go over there and it's related to the government or universities or whatever, then the visa is free! Yay! In other news, I am completely bored. I could be writing my ethnography/theory essay right now, but it's REALLY boring. And I hate theory! I'm sure that it wouldn't be so bad if I understood it ... but I don't! However, my field trip report is done and my statistical thing is done! Yay! (Vielen Danke to Michelle and Erica for their assistance!) The only problem now is my stupid, pathetic, worthless printer. It is broken and will not print anything! I think that it hates me! Anyway, I can't print anything and they're all due soonish! In other news the Stargate is nearly ready! Yay! Sadly it's not a real Stargate 'cause that would be much more interesting than the Stone Age - although, that reminds me of this one fanfic that I read that I desperately wanted to turn into a LARP. It was absolutely perfect! Strange diseases (for those of you who know, the Touched virus), Asgard experiments and a 6-digit dialling code (that's right folks, NO point of origin!) that only works sometimes. What's wrong with the ventilation? What happened when Daniel pressed that button? A DHD that's been wiped clean? That only dials Earth? But why won't it work now? And what did Jack see on the "observation deck" (as he named it)? The reason that I'm sitting here writing this is because mom and I went to the German Consulate this morning 'cause they're only open from 9-12. So she is now finishing her 5 hours at work and I am sitting here, bored out of my mind! We had to go today 'cause next week is particularly hectic - it's the stable light isotope course (an optional module, but so very very cool!) and we have classes all day. Well, not really. On Monday afternoon we're climbing halfway up the mountain. I'm not sure why, but that's what's happening! And on some of the other afternoons we do practical stuff. Maybe I'll get some food... Comment: Wombat-bait... (by OOPMan on 2005-05-27 16:33:57)I've already roped Mike into a Farscape mini-campaign I'm plannning to run and I've been working on the Wombat. Drop him an email or something and give me some covert support :-) Comment: Re: Wombat-bait... (by GraveRobber? on 2005-06-02 12:46:45)Hmm ... I'll need more details - will it be while I'm away? If not, which day? And do you promise to stick to your day, if that's the case? I leave on the 13th of June (Monday week) and get back on the 25th of July. |
