I have quit my Masters and have registered for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education at UCT in Biology and Maths for High School. Yes - I have decided to become (an admittedly over qualified) teacher. And I'm really psyched by the whole idea. Met some new and interesting people while queuing for registration on Wed - so a good start all in all. O-week has been pretty cool. Managed to make it to the stand for my free coke and CLAWmarks only to have the CLAWmarks ripped out of my grasp by our erstwhile CLAWthing as they needed copies more urgently for propective Bobs (you think he'd know better than to anger an older gen CLAWmember). Got roped in at the last minute to play in the O-week LARPs and had a generally cool and groovy time (especially on Tuesday - mwahahahahahahahaha). Some of the Bobs seem promising - may actually eventually bother to remember their names by next year. Dave, Liz and other housemates' housewarming last night was cool. It seems like an awesome little place in obs. Got to see a bunch of people who have been pretty scarce recently. Then it was off to Gotham where cool conversation was had, but they were playing unbelievably obscure or doof doof music for the whole time. Managed to make it onto the dancefloor once. We did settle into interpretive dance after a while - seemed the only appropriate thing to do with what they were playing. Anyhow - apologies to people who haven't seen me for a while - been pretty busy running around, changing my life and doing more reception work to boot.
