ThisIsHowYouRemindMeOfWhatIReallyAmYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Yup - as a postgrad who is used to being in the Science or Medicine Faculties - this humanities stuff is a bit of a culture shock. As was previously stated in my last post - my Maths, Bio, Natural Sciences (and now Play Production) courses are awesome. It's the two bloody core courses that are driving me round the twist. The current modules that we are doing are really dull. We spent at least five hours last week discussing how our identity as teachers is reliant on the projected identity of the learners as laid out by the SA education policies. This I found mildly interesting as a new concept for the first twenty minutes - no more, no less. Then we watched a movie/documentary made in 1998 entitled "Forging a Nation" - yup, we were watching propaganda. Joy joy. But hopefully some of the other modules will improve - only about two weeks of this pain to go. Been really tired, but have managed to at least relax this weekend. Friday night was Caroline's birthday get together at her place - yay coffee cookies :-D And we managed to successfully freak out her innocent family - hehehehe. 'Twas very cool. Then up early on Sat to go and check out the Celebrate Life festival which was pretty cool. And then it was Al's party last night. The thirty litres of amstel were in fact finished thanks to the gallon challlenge. Yup - 9 500ml glasses of beer were calculated to be approximately a gallon. Congrats to Jim, Schpat and Waynne for their noble victory (although Waynne technically came out as champion because he managed to keep it all down). Also special mention to Al and Garrick who were so close when the keg ran out. Had an absolutely rocking time - thanks Al :-D. I have a blister on my thumb from too much Playstation 2 ;-) - sad, but true. Anyhow - must get back to reading papers for tomorrow's lecture and then roleplaying !!!! Comment: Hey! PS2?! (by SynKronos? on 2005-02-28 09:21:51)Nobody told me that was gonna happen =( I woulda hung around Comment: So Hey... (by noghumpty? on 2005-02-28 16:03:33)So do you plan on taking a few minutes out of your roleplaying schedule to actually talk to a real live relative who hasn't spoken to you since you changed courses? Would kinda like to get some of this info from the horses mouth, so to speak. Just wondering. |
