BringOnTheHorseTranquilizers

You are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. Hmph - I am still sick. My cunning ploy that being a good girl over the weekend and spending most of it in bed would negate the need for antibiotics has backfired on me. Ended up going to the doctor again yesterday and my body has mutated the flu, turned it into sinusitus and now upgraded it to sinubronchitus. The result being more time in bed and antibiotics the size of horse tranqs. Not to mention cortisone and some other funky pills. Was supposed to go back to 'varsity tomorrow, but at this rate I am still going to be in bed. Then I drag myself out (because I get really bored cooped up alone at home), but only to Wednesday Night Movies and roleplaying. Dom's "farewell" was a bit extreme - fortunately I had been in bed allllll day.

Sims 2 University expansion came out today - yay !!! It's so cool. But now my PC is battling - time to get my brother's hand me down motherboard actually installed. No one to blame but myself - have had a couple of helpful souls offer their services.

Anyhow - ta ta. I'm going to curl up in bed now.

Antibiotics don't help against viruses like influenza. So if you have the flu, taking antibiotics is worse than useless, it's harmful. If you then develop secondary infections, it can be used to treat those, but your antibiotics are not helping fight your flu at all

I was wondering if you had installed the motherboard I gave you. :-D I figure there is about a 6 month lead time before anything I give you for your PC is actually installed and being used. :-D

Syknk - I did study this stuff for 6 years you know. The antibiotics are not for the flu, they are for the unfortunate side effect that is the gigantic bacterial infection of my sinuses that has followed. Hence i did not originally accept any antibiotics. Welcome to my immune system being low and bacteria taking full advantage.

I was mostly bemoaning the fact that doctors try pass off antibiotics on you in the first place. Crackpots =P
