AndNowForSomethingCompletelyDifferentYou are on the archive wiki. The new wiki is here. .... a Shelagh with at least moderate typing skeelz. Well the smoking issue hasn't descended into an argument yet which I am thankful for. Yes, strange but true Shelagh is in fact up and at her brother's office in Durban by 8:30 am during my holidays. Up in DBN for a couple of days catching up with Kim and sundry other people and my poor bro had to come in for a meeting today. So thought I might as well see where my brother works and loot and pillage the company's bandwidth innocent whistling Well I promised that I would fill people in on a few things that happened in Betty's Bay. So here goes and I hope that my dodgy memory manages to plow through the Natal laid backness to do this justice. (Of course I'm supposed to be doing research for character backgrounds, but oh well ;-)) So at various times there were up to 11 people in one place which can cause the expected amount of interparty conflict (oh my god i am a roleplayer..), but was otherwise pretty cool. We were playing "Extreme Survivor Betty's Bay" where people got voted off before they had even arrived. It was awesomely relaxing though - cos you could disappear and do your own thing at any point you wanted to. Five of us had a close encounter with the enthusiastic undertows (despite being warned), but managed to make our bedraggled way back to shore with the only losses being the hairbands and contact lenses that were sacrificed to the sea in the process. But on the plus side Garrick got to collect some more cliches such as rescuing a damsel in distress, going back for a friend, the cliffhanger hand grab and collapsing exhausted onto the beach afterwards. We also got around to classifying the local ecology with tissue bugs and bumble birds being the primary specimens of interest. Had a great fish braai on the one night - YUM !! I even managed to get a bit of a tan (plus some peeling, but the colour has remained WOOT). We also met an insane cockerel who would crow randomly at any time including 2:15 pm (and all is well) and 3:25 am (and all was apparently still well), but never at sunrise itself. If anyone has been contemplating watching The Incredibles I strongly recommend it. It gets a 9 on the Shelagh rating as being a generally kick ass movie (we laughed so hard we were crying). Still no suggestions for my birthday so I'll probable just be at The One Ring or something and have anyone who wants to swing past meet me there. Does the 13 Jan (a Thurs) suit people, or should I move it to the Fri 14th instead ? Let my people know. Have a new shiny cellphone (I love contract renewals) with "I believe in a thing called love" as my ringtone - the didn't have the Hitchcock theme :-( If there are any spelling mistakes I'm sure that you will all cope. Have a great Christmas and New Year and I'll see y'all soon :-D Comment: Party (by MoonFlake? on 2004-12-21 09:23:11)Hello!
