From the Cookbook

Suggested/implemented recipes from the PmWiki cookbook:

RssFeedDisplay

Suggested by: Norman
Motivation: Including feeds in CLAWspace? (more specifically my most recent blog entries)
Description: Not including ping, see Extensions

Security options

Requires discussion
Goals:

  • spambot protection
  • anything else?

Formatting options

Requires discussion

Decisions:

  • support for wikiwords? freetext?
  • my very personal request - support for special characters in page names\author names - d@vid :)

Skin options

hoo boy

Extensions

Things not found in the cookbook, that we want to do, that may get added to the cookbook once they're done.

RecentChanges? ping

Suggested by: Norman
Description: Hack XMLRPC to rpc-ping enable a particular wiki entry.
Motivation: 'pinging' wiki entries so that RecentChanges? is affected so people know to come and read your blog.

URL redirect

Suggested by: d@vid
Description: Server side redirect old clawtiki/...?blah references to Tome/blah.
Motivation: I've noticed that a couple of blogs still use the clawtiki address. I know they should fix em links, but support for old URLs makes sense to me.

CleanUrls

  • Suggested by: d@vid
  • Motivation: I hate ugly URLs
  • Implemented By: Hodge and Gnome

manual line breaks

d@vid moaned: not having to add manual line breaks - \\ - ick

H*: You can't have your cake and eat it. Either paragraphs wrap properly and newlines use special markup, or paragraphs are screwed and newlines are treated as breaks. Personally I'd like the default to be for paragraphs to wrap nicely. Try the (:linebreaks:) page directive if you have a page which needs it.

resolution: d@vid will suck it up ;)
