We will be running our high fantasy LARP, Grove of Fallen Leaves, on Saturday the 21st of March.
This LARP has relatively long and complex character sheets. As a rule of thumb, you should be fine if you have either LARPed before, or are an avid reader of fantasy and are familiar with its common tropes. If you have never LARPed before and you have never read a fantasy book in your life, this may not be a good place to start. ;)

The forest is at war.
What began as a dispute over a trade route has escalated. The elven nation of Calen-Earanth is engaged in a vicious conflict with the neighbouring kingdom of Tamarys and its ally to the east, Kargare. The Tamarian army, under the command of Lord Gillean, has been burning a path through the forest in an attempt to capture the elven city of Quellostar.
As the humans launch a major push towards the city, they are ambushed. Elves and druids wielding powerful magic cause the forest itself to strike back against them. The Tamarians suffer devastating losses and flee, many becoming lost in the forest's depths.
In the Grove of Fallen Leaves all is silent apart from the rustle of the wind in the great oaks. Will its tranquility be disturbed?

More information:
Location: Andrea has kindly arranged for us to use her parents' garden. :D We can organise lifts for people without their own transport.
Time: Briefing starts at 18:00; LARP starts as soon as possible afterwards. We encourage players to ask questions about their characters by email or phone if they can; this substantially cuts down the briefing time on the day of the LARP.
Cost: R25 to cover food and drinks. As usual, first-time LARPers play for free!
Costuming: This is a LARP set in a medieval-esque fantasy world. Please make an effort to make a convincing costume! We don't expect you to sew a period-accurate medieval outfit, but please don't pitch up in shorts and a t-shirt.
We will send more details to players after casting.
If you would like to play, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can cast and give out character sheets well in advance. Firm commitments only!
