ClawMember?, ClawRoom?, ClawMarks?, etc. Also spelled CLAWmember, CLAWroom, CLAWmarks, etc.
Hey! Check it out! We have redirects!
They're dead easy to use:
(:redirect SomePage:)
Now we can sort out these frickin' ClawWords once and for all. We need to merge the content of each pair, put it all in one of the two versions, and make the other version point to it.
I think that we should decide on a consistent ruling for which spelling will be the One True Entry and which will be the Subservient Redirect, as this will be neater and set an easy precedent for future additions. In the true spirit of democracy, I vote that we have a vote.
The candidates:
- CLAWword? has been decreed to be the Correct Print Spelling, but is not a proper WikiWord and thus a pain to use on the Wiki.
- ClawWord is a proper WikiWord, and thus nicer to use on the Wiki, but is not the Correct Print Spelling.

- I think we're reaching a consensus here. - ElfBoy
- I've modified the regular expression which detects WikiWords? so that words which begin with CLAW are now also considered WikiWords?. Feel free to change your vote if you feel this changes things. Does it even make a difference now? Although CLAWword? is still the official print spelling. - ElfBoy
- Well, I'm still rooting for ClawWord, mainly because I think the print spelling is a bit silly. It is a sensible convention for words which are derived from acronyms as if the acronyms were ordinary words to be spelled in ordinary mixed case (the best example of this are the humourous and self-referential application names of the open source world). So I think that it would be sensible to spell CLAWs, the original acronym, the way we usually do, but to spell all derived clawwords like ordinary words in print (well, maybe with capital letters), and as ClawWords on the wiki. The first bit is outside the scope of this vote, but I am voting for the second bit. - MyrdemInggala
- the ee cummings multilateral reunification committee are strongly in favour of capitalisedacronymprefixes - amandla! - the wiki is now able to reflect the Correct Print Spelling, all we need is someone willing to sort out the redirect backlog - as soon as I have access to a connexion in CT, that's me - d@vid
