MoonFlakeBlog: JapaneseHorrorScary

went to see the grudge on tuesday. scary.

i think my problem with japanese horror is i'm not desensetised to the techniques yet. it's not predictable in the same way western horror is. sure, if you're mean, you die, but if you're nice, you also die. the brave heroine will probably not be able to save her loved ones/herself even tho she does investigate and sympathise with the deceased. the damn scary just keeps on coming, and you can't outrun it, you can't hide from it, and you can't placate it. also, it usually takes the form of something otherwise innocent, like cute little japanese kids.

scary.

alex got most of his dvds back recently, which includes a lot of zombie movies i haven't seen. yay! zombie-fest! Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (original), Day of the Dead, Evil Dead, Return of the Living Dead part 3...the list goes on.

in other news...busy busy busy at work. the weekend away at baineskloof was pretty cool, tho. plenty of sun and swimming and booze and good food, so alltogether quite enjoyable.

starting a new campaign this week. yay! i think i will be playing a half-doppelganger assassin, but we will see if al will let me. character creation tonight.

also, alex is thinking of running a SLA Industries campaign soon...should be awesome.

hmm..and i need to produce some art for clawmarks. the muses are ignoring me at the moment, so we'll see how that goes.
