Vampire: the Eternal Struggle

The V:tES South African Nationals will be taking place at Dragonfire. Prize support will include four Heirs to the Blood starters (valued at about $250 on eBay). There will also be socials, demo games and some sort of semi-competitive event for new players.

Social and demos

• Thursday, 18:00 until late

An evening of fun social games. We'll have the White Wolf demo decks and demo scripts on hand for anyone interested in learning to play.

Deck-building exercise

• Friday, 18:00 until late

An opportunity for everyone, but especially more junior players, to build decks and get advice from others. The box of singles from Outer Limits will be there for people to buy cards from (50c a card) and there will be a group of senior players on hand to help you ask the right questions about your decks. We will have spot prizes for the Most Interesting and Most Competitive decks made from a single sealed starter and easily available cards (anything available from the Outer Limits box counts as easily available). Adjudication will be by a small panel of experienced players. Social games will take place from time to time in order to test decks.

SA Nationals

• Saturday, 9:00 - 17:30
• Registration at 9:00.
• First rounds starts at 9:30.
• Format: Standard Constructed, 3R+F (three rounds plus final).
• Entrance fee: R30
• Prizes:
  • There are four HttB starters up for grabs.
  • The winner may take all four starters.
  • Each of the four runners up may take one starter.
  • Any HttB starter may be substituted for either two other starters or nine boosters.
  • If all the HttB starters have been taken, a substitution must be made.
  • The order in which the runners up choose will be randomly determined.

Rapid Thought tournament

• Sunday 10:00 - 16:00
• Registration at 10:00.
• First round starts at 10:30.
• Format: Rapid Thought, 3R+F (three rounds plus final).
• Entrance fee: R10
• Prizes:
  • 6 boosters for the winner
  • 2 boosters for each of the other two finalists.
