Dragonfire: soup

I've suggested soup as another food option for Dragonfire this year because it's easy to organise and costs relatively little to make.

The idea is this:

  1. A bunch of people volunteer to make one or two big pots of soup each for every day of Dragonfire.
  2. Each person prepares their soup either the night before every day, or all in one go before Dragonfire. They pack it into ice-cream tubs and refrigerate it.
  3. The soup is brought up to Dragonfire, where it is sold for about R3 a cup. The portions are re-heated in a microwave. Any soup left over at the end of the day contributes to LARP food.

Soup is generally quite resilient and nothing dodgy happens to it if it stands unrefrigerated all day. Especially if it's winter. Note that the sort of soup I'm thinking of here is Thick Soup With Many Things In It rather than Runny Soup With Some Carrot Floating On Top.

I (Adrianna) volunteer to make a pot of beef & bean chowder (beta-tested with success at many roleplaying sessions) and a pot of pea & ham soup for every day.

I would like to be reimbursed for the meat, but I'll donate all the vegetables and other ingredients (it would be a pain in the ass to keep track of precisely what they're worth anyway).

If you're good at making a particular kind of soup, sign up here. We need vegetarian options. Some kind of thick veggie soup would be nice.
